But never would I have thought Stroman could be a perennial cy young finalist regardless of his FIP.
Idk guess I'm just annoyed that they'd have to give up young talent when they could of just signed Kuechel a couple of weeks ago.
They targeted Keuchel. He wanted the money, not the Yankees. We don't need that from a (at best) #3 starter. Stroman is likely a much better pitcher than Keuchel at this stage of their respective careers.
I get all that rather Yankees hold on to Frazier. I'd hate to trade him to the Jay's and see him turn into something and beat us up 18 some or so times a year. If it were any other team might learn to live with it but Jay's would be tough.
have come here and floundered? Who knows now if Paxton is still hurt or a head case as well?
Stroman is probably a little less regarded then Gray while he was in Oakland. He does have the AL East experience, perhaps someone can look into his records against the Sox and Rays.
The point is, we have no idea how he will perform in NY. I wouldn’t be comfortable trading Frazier for him, now Voit I wouldn’t mind.

Why is Paxton a headcase? Where the hell would you come up with that. Guy had a 0.90 ERA in Yankee Stadium until the last game. Might be he is still sore, but I see no problem with Paxton.

Voit seems more like a guy I'd want as an everyday starter than Frazier. Frazier might be a higher ceiling guy, but Voit has better intangibles.
And I don't know about your Stroman/Gray comparison. Stroman has been better regarded than Gray ever was imo.
RE: How many pitchers have gone to Houston and flourished and how many Â
trying to stretch another inning out of a guy and then have to yank him after getting two men on and no outs. He seems to do it often.
Maybe they are stretching Cortez to become a starter???
Frazier is younger and has a position. I guess Frazier at RF is a Â
push with Voit at 1B. But one of them has to go with the addition of Encarnacion.
Paxton should turn it around, let’s hope anyway. But I am expecting him to pitch better at NY then he did at Seattle.
Stroman and Gray are probably on the same tier, but I don’t know how anyone can be confident he will definitely deliver here. One thing I know though, his constant fidgeting on the mound would annoy the hell out of me.

I agree. He doesn't do it often. But every so often I get a "what's he still doing in there" feeling like with Cortez in the 8th tonight...

I was searching for a word other than "often." But he does it enough that you notice it.
To say Encarnacion will be the DH he’s played and outstanding first base this year. Voit could be the DH
Good call.
Voiit 44 games at first base this year 4 errors.
Encarnacion 45 games at first base this and 2 errors. Let’s see what happens and how they use them. You probably don’t even watch any team besides the Yankees

Two ways to look at it:
1.) Voit being the future will get plenty of time at 1st to get better in the field. Cannot improve fielding on the bench.
2.) Encarnacion is the better glove man and will get most of the time in the field.
In any event, I do not think Edwin is on the team next spring.
5 mill. buyout on EE's contract for 2020.
I wouldn't be overly concerned who is going to play
1B more, they both will get their time there.
Neither is going to win a gold glove anytime soon.
Looking at errors made doesn't always tell the
entire story, about how good a defender is.

Why would you be comfortable trading a 27 y/o 1st baseman with huge power and a very good batting eye?
They both throw fastballs and curveballs too. They must be the same exact pitcher...
Not to mention, just because Gray blew it, doesn't mean Stroman would.
Maybe they are stretching Cortez to become a starter???

They are not trading there starting 1st baseman over a backup OF.
What happened to him? He was so great last year! And I love his high fastball...
Holder has lost his touch....

The one thing mlv.tv has to work on is smart TV access. They've had some issues on on the Apple TV for me.
Only direct laptop streaming does perfectly for me.
not in FL. stayed on the whole time...

it was really bizarre...it happened on the Roku and then came back on after a minute or so.
And it looks like a trade for a big pitcher is coming down the pike, too. Excellent!
Oh, and nice win!

Frazier is now the tenth man. Those are ridiculous bats. A plethora of bat.
Good call.
That's Mike Graves you're talking to.

I'm on Roku, too. Sometimes my network gets slow and the picture needs to reboot - picture gets fuzzy.
