Whichever one had Samuel Jackson in it was awful, I gave up on the franchise after that.

is horrible. Terribly directed with major timing issues. One is great and 3 is fine.

3's a good movie.

The rest are forgettable.

Such a fantastic, fun, absurd villain.

Only the first one had a great sense of humor. The rest were just money grabs. Especially 2.

Although I did enjoy the part in the one with Kevin Smith where they are driving around Woodlawn MD - which is where I once worked - and it looked nothing like it whatsoever.

Cause it's pretty much the same list that goes 1 deep.

3 was a good one until about 3/4 through the movie... the ending was a massive letdown. IMO, the movie becomes overrated due to the finale with Simon.

2 always gets bashed but held true to what made Die Hard great. Terrorists take over a thing, hold it hostage, one cop has to try to save the day from within; 1 was a building. 2 was an airport. 3 was NYC. 4 was the country. 5 was hot garbage and should be stricken from our memories.

But that’s what happens to sequels 90% of the time

I put 3 second because I thought Jeremy Irons and Samuel L. Jackson gave very good performances. 4 third for Timothy Olyphant and Justin Long. Also very good, but a notch below Irons and Jackson.

I thought 4 was the worst. I don't even remember 2, I can't remember when I last saw it. Might be close to 20 years ago. I always felt that Die Hard with a Vengeance was easily the best. I know it's not a popular opinion. I like that the movie takes place in different settings. The first Die Hard took place all in one building. It's very good don't get me wrong, but I thought the third one was more dynamic. I also really like that Die Hard with a Vengeance took place mostly during the day. This may sound stupid but it was more uplifting to me as a result. Too many dark scenes can be depressing.

Never saw 5, will get to it sometime. 4 wound up being not as bad as I thought it'd be, a lot of the friends in my inner circle weren't interested. So, meh, didn't care and saw it anyway. I'll watch LFODH when it comes on and I thought Timothy Olyphant did a great job as the main villain.

Just liked that time in my life... June 2007: Benoit story was hot, Sopranos ending, Britney is nuts, started to travel more.

Side notes: How forced Justin Long was in the 2000s? What on earth did he do to land in so many movies back then? I still really feel LFODH could've been better if he wasn't in it. Never thought his typecast, wimpy, awakward, nerd, male character was ever useful to me in every sense of the world, and he just wasn't funny at all.

As crazy as this sounds they shouldve put a female along side Bruce for that one. Zooey Deschanel or something, haha. Those big eyes watching things explode.

Why is it scary? Hollywood has been making sequels and series's (I hope that's correct) almost from the time they began making movies. Why should a Die Hard series be "scarier" than any other?

I don't understand how the truck pipe fight scene is what put you over the edge - did you expect that NOT to happen? I'm surprised they didn't add sharks to it!
