For those BBIers interested in WWII and/or interested in Iceland (both for me).
"A new book in English on Iceland in World War II has just hit the shelves in Iceland. It’s titled Iceland in World War II: A Blessed War, by G. Jökull Gíslason.
Filled with black-and-white photos from the occupation of Iceland by British and American forces, the 125-page book describes the occupation and the effect it had on Icelandic society, both in social and economic terms."
I could not find a means to purchase it now, other than going to Iceland. Which I did in May.
This link allows purchase, 23 Euros. I don't know about shipping to the US. I have emailed them. Today is Icelandic National Day (independence), so I will not get a reply anytime soon.

I thought Iceland was covered with ice.
María:
No, it's very green!
Coach Bombay:
I thought GREENLAND was green!
María:
Greenland is covered with ice, and Iceland is very nice!
I would be interested in any stories/viewpoints that you may have heard from your aunt, regarding her experiences as an Icelander, before/during/after the war. Do you recall any?
Not an easy man to be with/marry and I feel bad that she ended up with him, could of have a much better life if she never met him.
Beautiful women inside and out.
My uncle served in the Pacific and Europe, he was OSS. He had quite the demons, slept with his eyes opened. He married a German girl, brought her here.
She had some tough times with him, divorced him, but loved the USA.
