Just teasing Eric unless he finally got a smart phone.
My 6plus is finally reach the end of the line. I need to upgrade. I'm available for one and I currently have a deal in place for $300 off the iPhone X. Great. I go to check out the website, and there's 3 or 4 different new phones. iPhone X, XR, XS, XSmax.
Can anyone give me a quick best bang for my buck phone? Are they all similar? If anything, I prefer a nice, clean camera that takes good pictures. I like the size of the 6 plus, but I don't need a phone that big.
My wife and I took the same photo a few times with both phones and the XR comes out better every time. I don’t really care about what phone I have but my wife kind of does, and she is disappointed with the X vs the XR. She also is a graphic designer and I am certain would have gotten the XS all things considered. I think her phone (X) is totally fine as well, but I preferred the feel of the XR to that one (weight, hand comfort wise). The XS was just too much money for me to justify. So in the end I choose the XR over the X. That’s a whole lot of just useless opinion right there.
IMHO stay away from the XR. It has a single lens camera that is inferior to anything Apple has made recently. If you find the XR's price attractive, you'd be better off getting an 8 plus. It has a better camera for less money.

Not sure this is totally fair to the XR. For most photos, it's just as good as anything. The 8plus is better if you're really into iphone photography, because of the dual cameras - 8plus has real zoom while XR has only digital zoom. But the XR is better in low light.
But the XR has better processor than 8 plus, better battery life and face ID and wireless charging.

I feel the same way and upgraded from the 6 to XR. I love it! My wife and daughter both went with the 8 for many different reasons but I think you get more for your money with the XR.

I gotta disagree, and I don’t want to sound like I want to argue because I wouldn’t, and definitely don’t have the knowledge or interest. However, my wife is a graphic designer and was a professional photographer. She has worked for National Geographic and Sports Illustrated back when she was doing photography. She did a bunch of tests with the cameras and basically says that outside of needing to photograph something in the distance, the camera on the XR is much much better than the 8, and for your typical type of pictures as in two people standing next to each other type of stuff, she feels you would be better off with the XR over the X, especially at the price. She might be one of the most laid back type of woman I have ever met but if you mention the dual camera as an argument she can almost get annoyed lol. She thinks it is mainly just a gimmick. She also goes everywhere with cameras that cost a fortune, so her mindset is different.
Nonetheless, I like technology but I am not someone that has to have every gadget or new phone, but the XR has been awesome to me. I don’t really have a single complaint about it. The battery has been awesome and I would recommend it to anybody that asks. Especially considering the price differences, at least when I bought mine.
