Things seem to be falling apart a bit. Nimmo seeing a specialist. Syndergaard on the IL. Vargas out yesterday with a leg cramp. Three more losses and we probably could have won every game. Familia might be the most damaging move of the entire offseason in terms of it contributing to actually losses. Probably the final stretch to get above .500 by the all star break/deadline. LGM!
Keuchel makes his season debut on Friday vs the Nationals.
I think Rosario would be the more likely option to move to CF. I haven't been following the Mets minors much this season how is Gimenez doing?

or SS. Im betting he's passable at both. Get Dom in the lineup every day.

Ive never been a big Gimenez fan. REALLY wished we had traded him to Seattle over Kelenic and he was MUCH more highly rated at the time. Seattle likely would have gone for it and I was a big advocate for it at that time.
Anyways, to your question, he's sucked. lol. 92 wRC+ in AA isn't good but we'll see if he has a better second half. I just don't get moving a bad bat into CF. If your going to do that just go with Lagares/Gomez. At least they can play defensively. Conforto is passable in CF and McNeil is apparently athletic enough to play anywhere.... So I could see moving either of them there to get Dom in a corner. All of it's moot if Nimmo ever gets healthy but who the heck knows... Mets are cursed.

Gimenez was a higher rated prospect but I like Kelenic more and if I was Seattle I would much rather have Kelenic even if he is farther away. I think Seattle felt the same way but that's just my opinion.
As for Gimenez he is still so young for his level. I know that he spent time in AA last season but some players take longer to adjust than others.
Fans have become less patient with young prospects because they see guys like Soto, Acuna Jr., Gleyber Torres, Tatis Jr. etc come up and play well in the majors at such an early age so they expect similar results for others. Those players are an exception to the rule.
1.) Nimmo CF
2.) McNeil 3B
3.) Alonso 1B
4.) Conforto RF
5.) Dom LF
6.) Ramos C
7.) Cano 2B
8.) Lowrie SS
Best possible lineup and we need it.
Those players were 22, 23, and 24 when they made their MLB debuts which is more rational expectations.

Oh geez dude I was playing with you..
Guy still pitches like a rookie even though he is 29.

I know you were, I was just pointing out that at their ages you expect a player to perform at their level but it's unfair to expect a 20 year old Gimenez to light up AA.

Yeah and Ramos can't catch a freaking ball moving runners over... Two runs are scored off a weak hit flair job that was pure luck... Its a combination of a lot of things but the Mets sure aren't helping out their SP this year AT ALL.
Philly is not the team I thought they were. I wonder if Nola is injured because he has not been very good this season.
Mets. Hold our beer.
so there

because their bullpen has blown way too many leads this season.

Lol, I know you guys have been complaining about the Mets pen but you obviously haven't watched Atlanta's. We have Blevins and Swarzak. I can't complain about Swarzak he has actually been excellent since coming over. The Braves pen has resorted to converting four SP's to relievers, two are in AAA.
oh and a fan on the field apparently, why not, well timed
We did the exact same thing with Avilan. Luckily, he's been injured and away from Mickey.
The Albies hit did tho. And more fantastic BP
I don't understand what they're waiting for. It's time to make a change. Actually that time was weeks ago.
There is no such thing as a LOOGY according to Mickey. Please refrain from using that term.
But hey, as long as we hover around .500 then the Wilpons are cool with it.

at what point when does the guy whose strength was supposed to be developing pitchers and managing a pitching staff get held accountable? Literally every pitcher he's been given has gotten worse under him, with the exception of JDG's HOF year last year.

The sooner BVW cans him, the sooner he's the one in the crosshairs. And if the sooner he gets criticized for not getting the wilpons to buck up for Girardi or one of the other proven managers out there. Mickey is operation human shield right now.

Not going to be around .500 for long.
Wheels are coming off.
