I should have known that my dehumidifier would crap out since its a GE.
Anyways, the piece of crap has stopped sucking water from the air. I believe its the compressor that needs to be replaced.
My question is, are the repairs for these cheap or should i just buy a new one?
My basement desperately needs one.
Whirlpool Energy Star 70-pint Dehumidifier With Pump - ( New Window )
costco.. i didnt think about that. Good point
I just picked up this exact dehumidifier from Costco and it works great! I have it pumping water up through a drain hose into my slop sink. No need to empty the tank.
+1 - mine wasn't even listed but Frigidaire sent me a new one when I called to complain after it went out a little over the warranty period.
These things are all made like garbage. They didn't want the old one back so I cracked it open, the coil had developed a small leak and lost all the refrigerant. Definitely not worth having repaired, and I ended up chucking it figuring it wouldn't be too long before it lost whatever refrigerant I pumped into it.
