Couldn't help himself with the memorabilia case and served jail time. One would think, ya know what, I am just going to stay out of the spotlight and move to Montana and get a great big house in the middle of no where on a nice lake (a la Phil Jackson). But Juice just couldn't do it.

It's really an admission of guilt on his part. Psychopaths hate it when other people take credit for their work. OJ probably remembers the killing quite fondly, and every time he gets the media buzzing about it, he probably remembers the incident more and more.

Haha, got it. I still don’t really know how twitter works, I’ll take a look at the video
I've really lost most of my interest in the franchise. Was taking up too much of my time.

You done with the Mets? You're disappearance speaks volumes.

But not the Knicks? Strange.

The Knicks are so bad for so long that they don't take much mental power to follow. You assume they will be really bad and pray every year the draft will be different. The Mets put artificial caps on how good their roster can be despite the market they play in. It's really hard to enjoy.

I felt the same way. I know it doesn't seem like it makes sense to keep following the Knicks - but, I've just not been invested in hoops the same way as baseball and with the Knicks, I know they're going to keep spending money and trying to win - they've just sucked at doing that for a really long time.
I honestly don't think the Mets care about winning. I think they're completely fine having a season like this, counting their profits, and calling it a season.
I do think the Knicks are actively trying to win. They just have spent money and resources terribly for such a long time.
That said, fortunes in the NBA can change so much faster. And I think the Knicks finally wised up a little bit recently and have been handling their roster (mostly) correctly. Not their fault that KD's achilles popped. Who knows where we'll go from here, but I can't be mad at the Knicks for that.
I'd still sign him. But, that's for other threads/discussions.
NBA is tough to turn around, especially with bad management, but it only takes 1 lightning bolt a la greek freak and bam, you're a contender for 5+ years.
One Kevin Durant gets a team close to a title.
One Mike Trout doesn't even get you out of the basement of the AL West.
So... yes. In my opinion, it is easier to change your fortunes on a dime in the NBA because it takes significantly less to do so.
Had Durant's achilles not popped and things went according to plan, the Knicks could viably gone from arguably the worst team in the sport to either the top team or close in just one offseason.
It's a lot harder to do that in baseball.
Baseball involves active rosters more than twice as large as what you have in the NBA. You have several lower developmental levels. 40-man rosters, regular seasons that involve nearly twice as many games. Way more to balance and manage.
One player can't change your fortunes in baseball or carry the same individual weight the way they can in the NBA.
NBA players aren't designated as pitchers or batters/position players. They play on both ends of the floor and have much more individual impact.
2013-14... they were a 33 win team with Kyrie and no LeBron.
No playoffs.
LeBron returns, they win 53, 57, 51 and 50 games and get to the Finals all 4 years.
LeBron leaves, they revert right back to a 19 win team and one of the worst in the NBA.
One player can't do that in baseball.
The Yankees lost Aaron Judge, who is one of the best players in the sport, and continued to win games and generate win streaks.
It doesn't mean Judge isn't massively important to the team - but it means that baseball is way, way less top heavy and that you have such a larger pool of players and ways that games can be impacted.
The Phillies spent a fortune on Bryce Harper. How much has he actually changed the landscape of their franchise?
On this date last year, the Phillies were 38-32. No Bryce Harper.
Today, they're 39 and 32. With Bryce Harper and his 300 million dollar deal.
The Cavs lucked into LeBron by winning the lottery & he ultimately went back for unfinished business. That is not the norm.
How about teams like the Sacramento Kings? How long have they been rebuilding?

The Knicks have sucked for 20 years because they've been incompetent. Not because there's been some impossible roadblock to overcome that's a symptom of the league's landscape.
Teams like the Padres, Brewers and Mariners have never won a World Series... there are plenty of Sacramento Kings' in baseball.
Forget LeBron and Durant - look what Kawhi did for Toronto.
One guy moves the needle in the NBA exponentially more than in baseball - it's not even arguable. That doesn't mean it's easy to compete in the NBA, but the blueprint is much simpler than putting together the right mix of starters, position players, and relievers and navigating almost 2x as many games in a given season.
You can't just sign a Bryce Harper and pencil yourself into the postseason in baseball.
To wit: Ted Williams, arguably the greatest pure hitter the game has ever seen, never won a World Series and only played in it once (1946). Barry Bonds never won a title. Ty Cobb never won a title. Walter Johnson won once in 21 seasons. Hank Aaron won once in 23 seasons. Willie Mays won once in 23 seasons. Honus Wagner won once in 21 seasons. Tom Seaver, Mike Schmidt, Greg Maddux, Carl Yasztremski....the game is littered with all time greats who never won a championship or only won one in long careers.
