Adrian Wojnarowski& #8207;& #61490; Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland had his workout with the Knicks today, but New York remains locked on selecting Duke’s RJ Barrett with the NBA Draft’s third overall pick on Thursday, league sources tell ESPN. |
Great anecdote. Sounds like a smart dad.
RJ! GOOD PICK!
RJ! GOOD PICK!
It is completely stupid... I just wouldn't do it.
Now let's land #5.
With what assets?

love to pry Garland from the Cavs.
With what assets?
There are options. 4 1sts over 2 years, DSJ, Knox, Mitch, Trier
The expected & good move.
Please take White, Suns. Otherwise I'm going to have to root for him on the Bulls and I really dont want to do that

I think Hunter is the safest pick in the draft to be good, but Barrett has better upside. Higher floor or higher ceiling. Picking this high you have to make something happen. I like the pick.
@wojespn
Barring a trade, the Cavaliers are focused on Vandy guard Darius Garland with the No. 5 pick, league sources tell ESPN.
He's got that crafty lefty game down to a science already and he's what 19 years old? Very impressed by how crafty he is. Now he just needs to get stronger and get a jumper.
Seems like a solid kid too. Good move by the Knicks.
Knicks will have a recruiting tool that no one else will, his best buddy.
Barrett's a solid pick. I wanted Ja over anyone in this draft, then Zion, then Barrett

Now he has to stick to his guns, and only go for KD/Kyrie or take on bad contracts for picks.
Every single pick so far has been a great pick in his eyes. He's bringing nothing to the broadcast. Nothing.

Agreed. What an odd feeling as a Knick fan
Was flabbergasted teammates would lie about fouls in pickup ball. Reminds me of an article about how after an earthquake, the people weren't looting and such, so the author was amazed

That's really interesting. The more you know...
Yea he just looks like a shooter despite the mediocre freshman year. Will it happen, who knows? But I would not be shocked if he ended up scoring 20 in the pros.
They have absolutely no shooting. And since the PGs were gone... they went with best shooter left.
Agree with this. Guy oozes talent and think the nba game will fit him better.
He plays nothing like Paul George. Billups has some weird comps.
Center who can shoot and block shots? Idk, his injury scares me but he would give us some talent at the 5 along with Mitch
KP situation sucked. Right pick, crappy ending. I think that possibility of what the team would have looked like from drafting & building says a lot too. But having pieces like KP, Mitch, Trier, RJ, Dot etc...it's a pretty nice base, and if a couple of those guys make the jump to stardom (KP was pretty much there too), how high is the ceiling? Aside from the right FAs from there

I might be crazy but I think Barrett has a higher NBA ceiling than Zion. Zion’s college game revolved around beating up on a bunch of undersized or unskilled big men around the rim. He doesn’t have any range shooting the ball. He doesn’t have the build or athleticism to create like a Giannis, Lebron, or Kawhi.
Barrett on the other hand just seems like one of those guys who ends up being a better pro than college player.
