There won't be so many ab's av available for Gary at DH. He simply gonna sit sometimes. Deal with it. He did play one day game after a night game this week.

That should've been the game he sat out IMO.
I know they obviously don't believe in "hot" but we have two guys who have both hit HR's in three straight games and they're both sitting out tonight? Am I alone in thinking that doesn't make much sense?

say there is no such thing as a hot streak. I took a grad course in behavioral economics and we spent some time on it. That said, as a former basketball/baseball player, I still believe in getting hot despite what the smart people say. I guess it's my dumb ape brain refusing to believe the truth.

I guess I have one of those brains too because I definitely believe in a guy getting in a good groove.
If you listen to a guy like O'Neill he's said many times when he was hot it was like the ball was as big as a beach ball and he couldn't wait to get to the park that day. I'd assume most players feel the same.
I guess agreeing with him offends some posters here though.

I don't know how to explain it, hot streak cold streak whatever...all I know is there were times the ball looked the size of a beach ball and they're were only 3 people in the field and other times it was like a pea and there were 20 people out there. Same in goal...there were times I felt like nothing could get by and others when I prayed no one would shoot on goal.
We've seen this story where you complained about the lineup for a year. We won 100 games. Maybe they know what they're doing?
They obviously do know what they're doing. I'd just rather see our best players play as much as possible against the better teams. Is it out of the realm of possibility had they played a little more last year we could've done better than 100 wins and pressed the Sox for the Division? I don't think that's an unreasonable thought.
I've got no problem sitting Gary tonight ( even though I thought he would sit day game after a night game like normal) since he's caught so much recently but Gleyber is only 22 and unless he's got something bothering him I'd prefer to see him play tonight and ride his hot bat.

Exactly. He’s been bitching about the lineup every single day since last season. Whether it’s the lineup, batting order or “hot” players getting a rest. You’d think the fact that they win almost every time he complains would be a wake up call. Yet, here we are. Like clock work.
I don't want this team hitting stride until the playoffs. We've done well lately, but is this ten years without a ring? I'm a ring chaser. Not a 110 regular season wins chaser...
By resting him Sunday instead of tonight Gary would have 48 hours rest until Mondays game whereas when he plays tomorrow he will have rested for 12 hours less or 36 hours counting from last nights game until Sundays afternoon game. ( actually even less)
Secondly I can't see him hitting Verlander as well as tonights pitcher but I haven't look up his % against both guys. But its probably a safe bet. Romaine will be Romaine no matter who pitches
Alex Bregman (R) SS
Michael Brantley (L) LF
Yordan Alvarez (L) DH
Yuli Gurriel (R) 3B
Josh Reddick (L) RF
Tyler White (R) 1B
Max Stassi (R) C
Jake Marisnick (R) CF
Miley vs. Tanaka
Real baseball please!
Real baseball please!
I get the frustration, but it's a long season and catching probably takes the greatest physical (and mental) toll of any position.
That should've been the game he sat out IMO.

Jeezus man. Here we go again...

Wash, rinse, repeat...
Why is it guaranteed they'd do better just because they listened to you? Maybe they'd do a lot worse. Maybe we'd have even more injuries.

I'm more concerned with Boston
They could still be a wild card team, right? Isn't it by record?

They lost too.
It's the magic baseballs. The answer to every question in 2019.
That really is like a shitty who's who of shitty announcers
