We could use lessons in this department. Some know how to do it, some don't.
There aren't any dinks on this team...
No, there aren't. But a single here or there on purpose wouldn't hurt.
No shit. Really? Percy, I'd expect more sanity by you. If players could just will a single, they would. Pitcher has a little bit to say about that.
I know, I know. It just seems to me, watching, that some players know how to direct the ball and the force with which they hit it better than others, Is that nuts? I mean, I also know how fast the ball is usually coming in, all too often with a weird twist. The batter is often fortunate to get wood on it at all. But some do it more regularly than others. And some with greater skill.
Gary let the first pitch - the best one he got to hit - go by. Then he swung at a couple of pitches way out of the zone. He's great but he could improve his plate discipline with two outs and a man on third.
Stanton getting an MRI on his knee, not his hand. Â

Last one was out of the zone, the second strike was right on the inside corner - a called strike if not swung at (IMHO).
Blows my mind how often players get hurt just sliding into a base.
A knee contusion just from a head first slide? Just seems like this shouldn't happen to a pro athlete but... I am no pro athlete so what the heck do I know.
RE: RE: Stanton getting an MRI on his knee, not his hand. Â
wow, showing the replay he came down hard on the knee (then got spiked on the hand). Hope he's OK.
Unreal. I've said it several times, let these guys take whatever drugs they need to stay and get healthy. There is an array of drugs available to do this. They lose and the fans lose when they aren't able to get and stay on the field.

Right and let NFL guys get deep into steroids, testosterone and HGH...
How about we let these guys grow old without their brains melting and joints seizing.
I guess with the 2 off days in a row, he feels comfortable going to Chappy. Figured he'd go to Ottavino before Chapman tonight - but it looks like Otto is the one they want to get the rest for.
Just a little random side note... Ottavino has been fantastic this year; his peripherals suggest he might be due for a little bit of an ERA correction soon, though.
1.56 ERA... but a 4.14 FIP. His K/BB is actually near a career low (1.96 compared to 3.11 last year)
1.240 WHIP (0.991 last year)
I don't think he's going to just hit a wall and suck, but his ERA probably isn't going to stick under 2 for too much longer.
he is actually quite fast. I read an article a month or so ago that measured footspeed and he was 3rd on the Yankees (behind Gardner and Frazier).
Oh right. Yankee-o-matic 2.1 says no.
I guess his size hides stuff like that a little bit

I'll try to find it online. I was mostly shocked at how slow Hicks was.
Richard with a quality start against our A lineup. Wow.

Jesus, fuck off already,clown

Horrendous comment but let’s pretend it’s true. Winning 50 games right now sucks I guess?

Now get him home.
Sanchez rewarded them with a crap AB. First pitch should have been in the seats, but he just watched it.
worked out for them - great as Sanchez is, he lacks plate discipline in certain situations, and this was one.

I'd say it was very good pitching. Very good batters are out well over 60% of the time.
This has been a well pitched game.

O'Neill thinks bone bruise. That shouldn't be too bad, no?

Not unless it's something more than a bone bruise.
Zero?
Why not Chappy?

Nice job for Britton. Boone will ask him to get 3 more with this PC.
Why not Chappy?
25 pitches last night. I don't think they're going to want to go back to him if they can avoid it.
Britton only threw 13 in the 8th. I think he gets at least the start of the 9th and Chapman only gets up if he gets into a jam.
