link attached is a USA Today article about our starting G tandem; apologies if German.
Nice comments by Will H. I’m thinking Pulley/Halapio will also benefit from Zeitlers tutelage. Link - ( New Window )
I don't think the rebuild is really complete yet (tackles will probably be a focus next offseason) but Gettleman has done a good job putting this group together.
Its nice to have a front office and coaching staff that not only prioritizes line play, but knows what to look for.
Zeitler, a seven-year veteran, is as football savvy as they come. Some might even call it obsessed, but that’s good news for some of the younger players such as 2018 second-round pick Will Hernandez.
“He’s been phenomenal, not only as a player but as a teacher, too,” Hernandez said, via Giants.com. “He’s taught a lot of young guys, including myself, a lot of technique. He was one of the top pass protectors in the league last year, so he definitely has a lot to offer and he’s passing it on to the young guys, myself also, and we’re really glad to have him.”
Some here criticized the deal because Zeitler has never made the Pro Bowl, let alone an All Pro nod. But he's been right on the cusp of that for years, and frankly if he had played in LA or Dallas or NY or Green Bay or for the Patriots at his level, my bet is he would have at least had a couple of Pro Bowl nods.
As an OL, you don't draw attention much (and that's a good thing) unless you're in a high profile market or blocking for beasts like Gurley or Elliot or Brady, Rodgers etc. Blocking in NYC area for Saquon Barkley will change that, especially if this re-constructed OL exceeds expectations as "MIDDLE OF THE PACK".
Blocking well for Andy Dalton in Cincinati isn't gonna get you noticed much.
played in together and the less than one year their careers overlapped in Cleveland with Thomas at OLT and Zeitler at ORG in 2017 really had much influence on Zeitler's game.
Not to mention OG and OT techniques differ to some extent...

Wonder if Flowers is still sticking to himself over there in D.C.
I is nice to see a camp battle between Pulley and Halapio....good to see Wheeler getting stronger and developing but
DG has done a great job but still has work to fill the depth/development

Which is two more elite OL than Reese brought in. Not one. I think if either C can be average Barkley and Eli will Have very good seasons

There are still questions about C and RT, but it's definitely two steps in the right direction for the Giants.
I'm going to make a wile guess -
He is reflecting of Browns team-mate and master O-line technician (and ALL PRO), Joe Thomas.
I think we'll have to have a mediocre season to pick Biadasz.

And fellow Badger. There's a reason UW is OL U.
