NFT: NYC this weekend...opinions requested

Planning to see the fireworks from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade...is that advisable? Are there better locations?
Also, plan to go to the Botanical Gardens then Arthur Ave for dinner. Roberto's? Dominick's? Mario's? Which would you recommend these days...I was always a fan of Dom'...love the baked clams!

Thanks in advance.
That should be a good spot for the fireworks.

On Arthur Ave, I'd recommend Zero Otto Nove.
Promenade will be packed

to say the least, but if you're able to park or be on foot you've got plenty of excellent eats on Court St. We love Gersi for Italian.

Jon we're taking mass transit from upper Manhattan. Would you suggest an alternative to Brooklyn?

Cash only. Enjoyed Enzo last night. Right down the block
I'd make sure that the restaurants are open

Love Gersi. If you are willing to cross the BQE (Hicks) Popino on Columbia is outstanding and Longshoreman is a nice addition on Columbia as well. Both are more modern takes on Italian.
rnargi - just saw this thread now, so a little too late

Did you make it to the promenade? Were you able to get a spot and see? Where did you eat before or after?
We did not get to the prominade.

Instead we went to Lincoln Center for the salsa dancing. Great fun. We ate some pizza earlier that afternoon...just a NY slice because that's what my wife wanted. We don't get that in Fburg. Then we had dinner at my brother in law's condo on W. 57th. We spent the whole day yesterday at the botanical gardens in the Bronx then we went to Arthur Ave for shopping and dinner. Finally back to Lincoln Center for big band music. We had a blast but I'm beat!
