Breaking right now. Bunch of picks and Gilges-Alexander/Gallinari to Thunder.
Thankfully he's not going to the Lakers.
Clippers will be the favorites to win the title. This move makes the NBA at least interesting come playoffs. If he went to Lakers without injuries no reason to watch.
Minnesota seems to be the perfect fit.
Westbrook
Culver
Covington
Towns
Need to find a 4. Okogie, Bates-Diop off the bench. They can trade Teague for a 4 perhaps?
I'd rather have Russ (with all of his issues) for the same amount Nick Batum and Cody Zeller are being paid. What idiot gave them those contracts?
Oh.
How many stand out years does LeBron have in him -- does AD really want to be stuck on a team with no draft future, no LeBron, and a potential powerhouse playing in the same building?

Agreed, If Barrett is as good as we hope and Robinson and Knox improve then the Knicks might look very attractive to him next offseason.
As for Dolan... It may play a role and he is certainly more present for basketball. But the Rangers did just land the biggest free agent. The Lakers are a mess but AD still wanted to go there. I dont think Dolan precludes us from big players.
Tou can't sit here and say they did well. That's a joke and speaks to the delusion that most of you are under. The rest of the NBA is making all of these moves to get stars or recruit other stars. The Knicks with their 70 plus cap didnt do shit. Only saving grace is they dodnt give out bad contracts to handicap them in the future. Also, certain they dont have the right management to go forward, Perry hasn't distinguished himself on a good or bad way yet, but the rest have been part of losing for a long time.

This makes any extension AD signs very interesting now.

I suspect AD will sign a new 1-1 after next season and basically monitor James. If LeBron falls off or retires, AD is out of there.
I don't think it's next offseason, I'd guess AD is there 3 seasons and bolts.
Why would they?

Gonna have to look in the mirror, and do some soul-searching. People just dont like playing with him.
Why would they?
Imagine when he goes into getting his triple double at any cost mode and passes you the ball in the corner where you are locked up and gives you that stare that you gonna take the shot and make it.

Hard to see AD leaving the Lakers. Hes a Klutch client, hes basically doing whatever Lebron and Rich Paul want him to

basically how most players feel with Lebron but people like to overlook that
I think a lot of people have been saying that for a while. LeBron has never made people better, that's why he needs to buddy up with other stars. LeFraud.

Did OKC really just get Shai and Gallo and 5 firsts and 2 pick swaps for Paul George or have I been drugged?
Whole lot of garbage. Quantity. Woopie.
The FO just pales in comparison to others in the league
Well that team did to get Kawhi Leonard, top 5 player in the game. Oh and George finished in the top 5 mvp voting. They will be to contender's for the foreseeable future. Something the Knicks qomt know for a long time.
Maybe, just maybe, Kawhi didn't want to play here and it was a waste of time and effort?
If the Knicks waited until now and didn't get Kawhi and any other free agent, could you imagine what would be in the papers about them right now?
Dude cmon. He’s been in the finals virtually every year. He didn’t help guys like Kevin love or kyrie? What about mo Williams or whatever his name was? Just stop.

best young player and 7 additional first round picks for any player, especially a 29 year-old coming off of a surgery.

God your story is getting (beyond) tired. We get it, you're a nets fan and love to trash the Knicks. STFU.

It’s about time people noticed. I wonder how many player Lebron has actually made “better.”

Kevin Love became worse with Lebron. That’s not even debatable.

You knew that douchebag Nets fans were going to come out of the woodwork. It’s okay, let them embarrass themselves. It’s comical.

Knicks fans are still bitching about the time they traded Gallinari and Raymond Felton (and Melo finished top 6 in MVP voting). Yes, the Clips were over a barrel because they had to get Kawhi on board. But let's not pretend the Clips didn't give up a ridiculous amount of assets to get Paul George. And because everyone hates/wants to rag on the Knicks, they would've been destroyed universally for trading that much for Paul George. So the "How come the Knicks don't do something like that?" complaint is silly, at best, especially when it ignores the fact Kawhi was never playing in NY and he eventually went where he always wanted to go.

Trade for George and then sign Leonard? They had the resources and then some. They couldn’t trade Knox and other shit? Oh that’s right the Knicks didn’t even bother meeting with Leonard. Because why bother. They just want to foster a youth movement for the next ten seasons.

At the cost of losing out on the likes of eldrick Payton? I wouldn’t give two shits.
If the Knicks added Leonard and George and had to trade everything and then some? We’d all be thrilled.
But why bother. The Knicks had to lock down eldrick Payton and Julius Randle and some guy named bob, I think.
Wonderful.
NYK wasn't getting George. Leornard and George are 2 kids from the Inland Empire in Socal, who've both at times insisted on LA. They now both get that, get to play with each other, on a good Clippers team, with a championship coach, and a great front office.

Wait how bout paying closer attention. The Clips made several moves to put themselves on such a position, like trading Tobias to get more draft capital and then absorbing Harkless for a first rd pick. Its moves like this that made this happen. Jerry West, that's all there is to it.
Wonderful.
Wade, Bosh, Allen, Irving, Love - all-NBA players before Lebron arrived. Oh let’s not forget he played in the East where it was complete shit for a decade.
Yep back to being irrelevant for another 20-25 years.

First of all it's elfrid not eldrick.
Secondly you're still missing the point. Kawhi really didn't want new York. It was a courtesy meeting. Maybe we had a shot with Durant. Maybe. We chose not to pursue Durant. Story over. Paul george wouldn't have sealed the deal for the Knicks. The clippers were a place he wanted to go and has made it known for a long long time.
If we had waited until July 6th to trade five firsts, Barrett and Knox for Paul george and not gotten Kawhi and been left with the free agent leftovers, we would have been destroyed up down right and left by the media,.worse than now.
I'm much happier where we are now than facing a much worse situation if anyone can believe that being possible.

OKC acquired THREE unprotected first-round picks from the Clippers in this trade (2022, 2024 and 2026), league sources say, PLUS two firsts from Miami (2021 unprotected and 2023 protected 1-to-14) ... AND the right to swap picks with the Clips in 2023 and 2025. Staggering

The Clippers will be without their 1st round pick in 2022 when George's contract expires at age 32 and Leonards enters his final year of his contract at 31. There is a chance that all three of those unprotected picks could be in the top 5.
If the Knicks gave up all that for a player who is 29 and already had one major injury I would be fucking pissed.

IDGAF what anyone says... the same morons acting like RJ Barrett is trash because of what they saw last night wouldn't be throwing a parade over trading 7 first round draft picks and their best young player.
Wonderful.
He's made the finals with Dwayne Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, and Kevin love 80% of the time. He hasn't done it "alone" since his first stint in cleveland and even then he had years with Shaq, antawn Jamison, Ben Wallace, and more. When he's been left with "chicken fried shit" (see 2018 Lakers) he gets injured and misses the playoffs and pouts until he gets a wingman to hold hands with.
Next year will be as wide open as any season I can remember. Milwaukee is definitely the class of the east but they aren't unbeatable. Sixers should be interesting if this mix is better than last year's. Raptors and Celtics take a step back but both still good. Nets interesting but non-threatening until KD is back. Watch Riley nap Westbrook now and build an OKC-east in Miami with him and Butler.
GS, LAL, LAC seem like the top 3 teams in the west (NBA?) and all 3 have the makings of interesting identities. The Clippers should be a beast defensively, GS still has most of the championship roster pre-KD, now with Russell, and the Lakers have 2 of the top 3 two way players in the NBA. Houston, Portland, & Denver should both still be very good. The Mavs & Jazz may be on upswings.

one Knicks title.
lol and the raptors were in the final 8 teams for the prior five years so they were very much relevant for more than one season
LOL - were they really? College teams put up better efforts against Lebron.

And it was the prior 3 years. Because in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 - they were gone after round1
I don't think there's any title argument for the Celtics, but I mostly agree about the rest (would probably put the Mavs > Jazz) and this NBA season. Most interesting one in a very long time.
There's absolutely zero to knock in how the Raptors approached the last 5 years.

And purchased the ultimate Golden State Warrior voodoo doll. Least we won’t have to put up with Drake for awhile.

God dammit I love this league. You can make title arguments for the following teams: Clips, Lakers, Jazz, Nuggets, Rockets, Blazers, Bucks, 76ers, Celts. It's going to be fun.

Mavs over the Jazz, what? Interested to hear the case for that. The Mavericks have 1 potentially great player, and a second good player that is always hurt. Nothing else to be excited about on the roster.
