Valera, starting at second today, was claimed off waivers from the Giants in May and was added to the 40 man.

Paxton vs. Morton
I’ve never been one to nitpick the day to day of baseball operations, seems utterly pointless. I’ll question/debate macro level moves like trading for Stanton, not making a big play for Machado/Harper, bringing back Happ, etc. but daily lineups is just a waste of time and isn’t backed by any actual data that a fan could possess.
The fan reactions are strange because they seemingly act as if Boone single-handedly loses games while the team wins them. It was that way with Girardi and the snarky comments about binders.
When we lose yesterday, it isn't because there were some terrible at bats - it was because of the lineup. When we lose after the bullpen surrenders a lead, most of the comments complain that the starter was pulled or that Boone picked the wrong reliever.
To hear some people post on these threads, the Yankees are undefeated if it weren't for Boone's influence.
Hard to believe he isn’t top 20 or top 30 with his stuff right now.
This came up in the last Kiley McDaniel chat and he said Garcia wasn't higher because of his size.
Definitely didn't follow the prospect rankings as closely then.
Just kind of wondering more philosophically what level of stuff gets you beyond frame concerns.
Yeah Greg is 100% right. Flash and Kenny were talking about it during the game yesterday. Also love Flash relaying that yesterday Pedro was in the lockeroom before the game doing the game for TBS and he came up to Flash to shake his hand and Flash said it was awkward because he still doesn't like Pedro for throwing at people so much. I loved it. Kenny was like "You may need to seek some help for that". So happy Kenny came back this season. He is great. I love his old Earl Weaver stories.

not as a GM/Manager who has countless factors that go into each and every lineup. I couldn’t tell you why he went with scalers, but do you think he just woke up and felt like it? And be mad at Valera for his fuckup, not Boone.

We are fans. We wouldn't be on BBI bitching if we weren't fans. Fans bitch and moan. Nobody would be here if it wasn't to talk about the game and complain about something. You compare your ideas with other fans. Sometimes you are right, lots of time (well many times) you are wrong. So people bitching about people bitching(really questioning and discussing) is just what fans do.
I really don't Cashman or Boone give a shit what we think.
Anytime a reliever gives up a lead it is because Boone brought the guy in too soon. If the starter gives up the lead it is because Boone left the starter in too long.
I don't think being a fan and not wanting to sound like a complete jacknut have to be mutually exclusive.

Because someone thinks Boone fucked up doesn't make him/her a jacknut(repetitive posts throughout a thread probably does). Boone's pretty good at what he does(better than most give him credit for, including me but I'm coming around). He does take chances leaving guys in too long, but he needs to stretch guys out and let them work out of jams so they know how to do it. I think he is correct to rest players. Just wish he wouldn't take two or three prime movers out at the same time.
But in the end, fans complain about management and players.
