: Free agent Marcus Morris -- who committed to a two-year, $20M Spurs deal w/ player option -- is re-considering agreement. Morris is now considering a free agent deal with Knicks, who'll have additional cap space with reworking of Bullock deal.

Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both will be free agents in two years, and both wanted it that way because they hit 10 years of service and can get a larger raise up to 35% of the salary cap (up from 30%). Not about leaving Clippers (necessarily) it's about the $$$

Damn, blast from the past with that one. I remember he was supposed to be the next AI.
Any interest in Guerschon Yabusele?

He was waived

the Knicks insist on adding veteran mentors, I'd take Shaun Livingston.

Can he play power forward? But seriously I agree with this. But don’t see why he would sign with the Knicks.
Strong

take on the Morris stuff (more the decision not the Knicks aspect so much)

Was thinking similar re: Shaun Livingston
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 12:22 pm : link
just not sure how his body has held up this late at 34

But when used particularly in past seasons, he was a great mentor, you'd expect better than Morris fwiw, esp as a PG

I listed out all the 'old' LAC players I used to watch in another thread and stupidly missed him. He was truly fantastic b4 all the awful knee injuries. Actually, not sure I mentioned Eric Gordon on that list either!
Also was quite effective in limited roles on court
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 12:23 pm : link
being a good glue guy, having some D, and a ton of bball IQ
One thing I can say about Allen is ....
Carl in CT : 7/10/2019 1:33 pm : link
He is not good enough to beat out Frank. Bye!

Mitchell Robinson has 5 fouls in just over 9 minutes.

This is not good. Seriously, you need to get your game under control after spending a year in the league. Last year was a different story

These are the types of things that are going to hinder Robinson until it improves consistently. It's directly related to his minutes per game and why they can't just write him in for 30 minutes a game. We can explain it away as summer league, but this is how he played at times last year too.
Knicks back on TV vs. Lakers...

This endless split screen is shit just to mention it again
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 9:36 pm : link
Iggy w/ a 3 to kick it off from Allen

Mitch w/ a stuff

RJ w/ a righty drive and a call!
Knox, and 1
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 9:38 pm : link
there are times he gets to the rim so easily, so smooth, and drops it in like nothing

RJ attacking again, another call
Feels like Tyler Cavanaugh
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 9:46 pm : link
has played his way on to Westchester. Does something every game, tons of effort, both ends
RJ is a pretty good passer

Iirc RJ was top 10 in the ACC
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 9:49 pm : link
not bad esp as a non-PG

You are correct. #1 in scoring, #7 in assists and #11 in rebounds.
Who knew Crazy Eyes was 4th in NYK blocks all time
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:07 pm : link
Loved that guy in his knick prime (was that like his 2nd comeback off major injury?)
RJ in the post
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:08 pm : link
That needs to happen, at least on mismatches off switches or on smaller Gs. First time in SL i think
I have an early plane tomorrow so I'm signing off but
Del Shofner : 7/10/2019 10:09 pm : link
this first half so far by the Knicks was good across the board.
RJ in the post
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:10 pm : link
who said that?

Took him a second to realize he had the spin but really nice

And almost got a dunk for Mitch right there if he wasn't fouled
I see so much potential in Barrett’s floor game
PetesHereNow : 7/10/2019 10:10 pm : link
Very impressed with his basketball iq. Watch how he gets open and moves without the ball.
RJ has settled in nicely.

Holy shit...that was a SWEET finger roll by Mitch
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:11 pm : link
coming of a curl near the elbow, just 1 dribble, 1 step past the (awful) defense. He's had a couple decent moves off the ball / slashing I don't think we saw a ton of last yr...
RJ showing all his strengths
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:18 pm : link
as bad as he looked early, we didn't even see these little moments on the break, moving w/o the ball, in the post, nice steal just now (lazy pass or not). Still can see his weaknesses, but can see his value on day 1 (hopefully)

Looks very engaged now (travel or not! It's the NBA baby)

should of had 2 more free throws on that fastbreak..

he is a hell of a rebounder
He's getting Knick calls
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:26 pm : link
sorry fan bitching or not, Zion got star calls for 9 min while RJ definitely did not. He played pretty bad, but 3-13 / 3-15 w/ a few more FTs & pts is better than 3-18 fwiw
Knox back to SL form

Well, that's not hard :P
Iggy
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:37 pm : link
what a sweet spin move & pass
RJ still shot the J shaky
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:40 pm : link
but had 3 straight nice plays in the post, a few on the break, a lot of attacking plays & FTs (like right there again). Seems engaged off the ball and on D...at least after he makes a play on O (lol smh, but he's a rookie). Was surprised he only had 1A in the boxscore, at least 2-3 were fouls b4 buckets & there were a few misses on a few others - might have had 4-5
But good to hear about Barrett
Anakim : 7/10/2019 10:40 pm : link
Just tuned in to see Tom Coughlin's favorite Flava Flav
I get that it makes the shortest 3 a little harder
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:42 pm : link
but I kinda wish they would just widen the floor. Who wants to see all these TOs for stepping OB all the time...vs actual made buckets? For all the desire to speed games and help O this would just that
Knox is the story this game so far tho
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:46 pm : link
6-11, 6-6 FTs, 7R, 2A, 1Stl

Very aggressive all game

Mitch did what he does, 5-5, 7R, 4B

Allen w/ about the best game he can have, 4-4, 5A, 2R, 1A. Still a decent defender at least SL level. (Again, 'can't wait' for Payton, believe it or not)
Fn sweet
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:47 pm : link
Back to stupid split screen. Yes, that's why we watch - the interviews w/ asst coaches, not the game. Dumbasses
Ignas is everywhere
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 10:52 pm : link
Also that was a real nice break. One of those 'ball doesn't touch the ground' the length of the court

Ignas boards, to KK at half, to Cavanaugh at the rim / layup oop
RJ stat of the night (thru 3 qtrs so far)
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 11:03 pm : link
0 TOs
Iggy looks great.
bceagle05 : 7/10/2019 11:07 pm : link
The two rookies take basketball very seriously. Sounds ridiculous to say, but that's where the bar is for me - a lot of other recent and current Knicks always seem like they're just picking up their paycheck.
Consolation game
GMEN46 : 7/10/2019 11:09 pm : link
Will knicks get one more game in summer league or is this it?
RJ w/ a nice all righty drive
ChaChing : 7/10/2019 11:10 pm : link
n bucket

then a bad TO in the paint...
Probably done for the night
nygiants16 : 7/10/2019 11:14 pm : link
rj 21 10 and 3, his shooting percentage was not great but he got fouled on a few drives that were not called..he is going to live in the paint his rookie year until he gets more confident with that jumper

knox 25 and 7, he looks a lot.more confident driving to the hoop and his jumper looks smooth..
The whole starting five looked good last night.

Back to the OP, what’s the latest on Morris?
Per
DanMetroMan : 7/11/2019 7:51 am : link
Berman, Bullock has plantar fasciitis that might need surgery

-Rich Paul was pushing Davis to the Knicks "as hard" as the Lakers

-Wanted the Knicks to trade back and take Garland

-Offer to Morris is 1 for 14.8

More from Berman
DanMetroMan : 7/11/2019 8:31 am : link
Barrett and second-round pick Ignas Brazdeikis (16 points, four rebounds, three assists) have a lot to think about after the summer league.
Do they represent their countries in the World Cup in August? Or do they choose to rest, relax and work out with Knicks coaches?

In Brazdeikis’ case, the Michigan second-round pick has been contemplating suiting up for his native Lithuania, according to an industry source. Like Barrett, Brazdeikis grew up in Canada.

Barrett was asked where he stands on playing for his country. As much as he has New York blood, he is Canadian first and was part of the country’s 18- and 17-and-under national teams.

“I haven’t thought about it much,’’ Barrett said. “I’m trying to get through the summer league first [before making a decision].’’

Knicks’ Ignas Brazdeikis always has silenced the doubters
Team Canada, according to the source, hopes he plays. That Rowan Barrett, RJ’s father, had been a key player for Team Canada in years past could weigh in the favor of him playing in the event held in China beginning in late August. Rowan Barrett was teammates with Steve Nash on Team Canada.
