He basically discusses if the Nets can take over New York from the Nets and then goes through all the New York area teams and their popularity over the years.
It's a decent read, but I think he got some wrong. He said the Jets ran the town over the Giants in like 1999-2000? What the hell? How? The Giants got to the Super Bowl in 2000.
The Paper version of the article had a pecking order for eras, but I'm not sure where he came up with everything.

Always was hopeful he d return to the Giants. But always rooted against him with those other teams
Even when they've supposedly made inroads in FA, they are going to have to wait a year for KD to play and by then, Kyrie might have already destroyed the locker room.

Agreed - good on them for getting 2 of the big FA's this year, but Kyrie is a risk after last year, and we won't even see Durant for another year (and could be age/injuries affect him). I'm sure Knicks fans would have been overjoyed to sign these to, but it's not a slam dunk that this turns them into a title contender. If Kyrie meshes well with the team this year and they make a nice run, then things may work out great when KD comes back - but there is definitely some risk with these moves. Especially as it seems every NBA contender is following the same plan of getting 2-3 superstars and trying to fill the rest of the roster with role players around them (except the Knicks, who are going the 100% role player route, and waiting on FA's in another 2 years - though that is preferable to the old "overpay aging stars" method).
He's always been like that. He's a mercenary. A damn good one but no long term loyalties to anybody
