But I really thought we were going to win. We almost beat them in that season finale that meant nothing to us, the Super Bowl Pats weren't the October Pats beating the Skins 56-0 or something like that, & Lady Luck seemed to be wearing a Giants cap.
From reading the link it sounds like his friends Â
His friend and the guy telling the story says that "he told them both, and they (his friends) just assumed the Pats would win". So they only bet that way.
the biggest professional sports upset of all time.
Yeah, but I remember some professional gambler talking about one of his general rules with championship games in professional sports. His rule was, if the money line goes higher than +300, bet the underdog. Rule of thumb more than anything, but it always made sense to me.
When I bet, I got them at either +380 or +400, can't remember.
Was going to make a bet on the Giants to win SB 46 Â
with about 4 min remaining in the Week 14 Dallas game in 2011. Could have made a cool $30k on a $10 bet. Now that was easy money ;) Unfortunately my dog ate my computer.

Giants and the points were easy money through both SB runs.

I thought as long as we kept the game close, we were going to have a legit shot to win the game in the 4th quarter. Which is what happened.

Actually the biggest professional sports upset of all time has to be Buster Douglas' Knockout of Mike Tyson.
