TEs.....

After the power 3 who is this years breakout player this year? What round do you take Hunter Henry?

Mine is Vance McDonald. With no Brown or Bell, Vance is a prime candidate to get more action and the #2 option in the red zone and goal line.

Henrys injury concerns scare me. He migh5 be one of those hurt every year.
Definitely Engram

Chris Herndon

Is my breakout.
I like all the names so far

I do think Herndon facing a possible suspension will help him to drop even further.

My name is Mike Williams or another Charger if Gordon holds out in Justin Jackson.

whoops

didn't see TE's.

If Hunter Henry stays healthy, he's solidly on the breakout candidate list.
Due to the sudden drop off in TE production

after the first couple of TE's, I likely will essentially ignore that position until later in the draft.

Who is going to be the starting TE in New England?

Mike Williams in San Diego, absolutely. Dude is a stud and flashed last year.

And with OBJ in Cleveland to go with Landry, Njoku, Antonio Callaway, and Chubb in the backfield, I am going to be buying up shares of Baker Mayfield.

Another guy pretty under-the-radar is Christian Kirk in Arizona. I see no reason for Kyler Murray to struggle to get him the ball. Kirk has very good short area quickness, and I think both he and David Johnson are going to thrive this year.

At RB, how about Dalvin Cook? Is it really a breakout given his initial big games as a rookie under Shurmur? Not sure, but why can't he put it all together this year? He just needs to enjoy some relatively good health, the talent is there.

With Antonio Brown gone, that Steelers' team needs another WR to emerge. I like James Washington to be the strong #2 to Juju, over Moncrief and Rogers.

Also, I think this is the year Marlon Mack has a big season. That OL is emerging, Andrew Luck is getting back to himself, and I expect Mack to have a great season.
So I did a mock draft 10 team standard
superspynyg : 7/12/2019 9:53 am : link
Would you be happy with this?
(Not in pick order)
Luck
Elliott
Gurley
Kelce
Diggs
Lockett
Jeffries
Flex Howard
Chicago

Wr is a little weak.
TE is always tough to figure out the next breakout player

Henry is certainly someone I could see breaking out. I like what you have to say about McDonald. Makes a lot of sense he could do it too considering the current makeup of the team. I have David Njoku as a keepable player in my league, but I don't think he's worth keeping considering I would have to spend a 6th round pick to do so. I think his value is in the 8th or 9th round.
So, I was hoping to get some fantasy football trade feedback
MadPlaid : 7/12/2019 10:04 am : link
I have an interesting conundrum to figure out regarding an off-season trade offer I'd like to make. Sorry, this is a long post. Lots of details.

So, I'm in a 12 team non-ppr keeper league. Our drafts are 16 rounds long, and the players selected in Rounds 9 to 16 are keepable for 2 to 3 years depending on what round they are selected in. Each team is allowed to keep only 3 players from their keepable roster. Currently, I have Marlon Mack as keepable, and I intend on keeping him.

Every team in the league can trade the rights to their keepable players in the off-season. You can trade a player for a player, but I don't intend to do so. Instead, I want to offer draft picks in our upcoming draft. This is the only time of year in our league where we can trade draft picks. We tried it during the season, but that was a mess. When we trade draft picks, it has to be an equal number of picks. It can't be two for one. In this deal, I would offer him an earlier round pick for one of his later ones, and he would attach the keepable rights to one or more his players to the transaction.

So, one team in the league has a wealth of keepable players, and the owner can only retain 3. I told him to let me know who he intends to keep, and I would make him an offer for who was leftover. Otherwise, they will be released into the draft pool, and he wouldn't get anything of value for them. And, they are good players. He is letting go of the following:

Player, Keepable Draft Round, Year
Cooper Kupp, 5th Round, 2019
Chris Carson, 9th Round, 2019; 6th, 2020
Courtland Sutton, 12th Round, 2019; 9th, 2020; 6th, 2021

I'm only interested in Carson and Sutton. I think they both have potential, and the round in which I can keep them makes them a bargain compared to their current ADP. For Carson, it is somewhere between 3rd or 4th round, and Sutton, 8th or 9th. Plus, I can keep them for multiple years, which makes them even more valuable.

I thought I'd offer him my 7th round pick for his 16th and the rights to both players. I think that is fair. He wasn't going to get anything if he just lets them go. I want to see what his counteroffer will be. I value rounds 1 to 5 too much to trade them, so this could get interesting. What do you think?

There is also the issue of this being way too early. I could make the trade and a player gets injured during the pre-season making the deal stupid. Or, if I wait, one of the players he was intending to keep gets hurt, and he decides to keep Carson or Sutton instead.

Any feedback is appreciated.

so you can keep 3 and still make trades without any impact?

In my league we can only either trade or keep players. IOW if I trade a player that counts as a keeper for me.

I like your setup better.

We can however trade draft picks in season - maximum of 4 per year.

Anyway if his option is get nothing and not keep those players or get a 7th round pick and still not keep them, it's a no-brainer.

Do I understand it right?

You've got it. He would get a mid-round pick for players he wouldn't be able to retain regardless.

Whoa, you can trade future picks while the season is going on? Doesn't that make for some really unbalanced trades and ill feelings from other owners?

We cannot trade picks until after week 6 (so roughly halfway through the season) and a max of 4 and they need to be even like you 1 for 1, 2 for 2 etc.

But one year my team eas decimated by injuries so I dealt Beckham who I'd have to use a 1st to keep for someone else's 1st. I dealt Brady for a 2nd round pick, etc. I wound up keeping Michael Thomas with a 9th round pick and Tyreek Hill for an 11th and i had two 1sts, two 2nds and I was making my own picks near the top of the draft.

other owners have the same ability to make trades too and there is no collusion in this league - though half the league is related.

Why would someone feel worse about two teams trading say Odell Beckham and a pick (like a 14th for example) for a 1st (and a player) than any other trade?
We have deep benches so normally carry 2

I love howard at 4 ADP - could easily be #1
hockenson & Olsen in the late rounds
If you can't..

get one of the Top 3 TE's, fill the position in a later round.

And if you get Henry, you should take a 2nd TE as backup for when he gets hurt - or just stream the position.

They would get annoyed because the team getting Beckham would essentially not sacrifice any current star players on their roster. The other owners would get jealous over the lopsided deal, and how the other owner was essentially bailing on the season. Frankly, I thought they were being big babies. If they couldn't make a similar deal which was definitely their option, then shut up about it.

Well that's why we can't trade picks until after week 6.

And we have a draft lottery, all 6 non-playoff teams are in it, so you are not guaranteed anything.

But giving up a 1st round pick isn't nothing, it hampers you next year. It's like a team "going for it".

for me, having two 1st and two 2nds set my team up the following year.

My team the year after those trades was:

Beckham (re-drafted)
Mike Evans
Tyreek Hill (late round keeper)
Todd Gurley (keeper)
Devonta Freeman
Travis Kelce
Luck/Ben
etc.

I cruised to the playoffs and then I would up losing in the semis, but it made it easy for me to turn around a team.

I don't begrudge people in week 7 from thinking about the future.

I would offer an 10th for my 14th for Sutton and call it a day.

Thank you for the feedback. You wouldn't consider Carson? I know he isn't guaranteed the starting position because of a recent knee scope and Penny looking good in mini-camp, but he was very good last year. I think giving up a 9 for a guy whose ADP is 3 or 4, is intriguing.

As for 10th for a 14th, I wouldn't be able to make that offer because, I need my 10th to keep Mack. Otherwise, I would spend my 9th round pick to keep him. It would probably have to be 11th for my 15th.

TE Darren Waller the best kept secret in the NFL.

He was suspended all last year, but returns to a Raiders team as the de facto starting TE on a team with a revamped passing attack led by Antonio Brown.

Plus a rushing attack aided by 1st round pick (their 2nd) Josh Jacobs.

Their OL has been patched with Richie Incognito and Trent Brown.

A TE could thrive in that offense.

Waller is pretty unknown and could go undrafted in fantasy football leagues, but I'm hoping to land him late.

He's got good size and runs a blazing 4.46 40 at 6' 6" 240 pounds.

The NFL has suspended #Raiders G Richie Incognito two games for violating the personal conduct policy. GM Mike Mayock was aware of likely discipline for a pair of incidents last year before signing Incognito to a one-year deal and has said theyll help him help himself.

He had a surprisingly fantastic year last year and Luck is his QB. I think he has a great chance to be a top 5 TE this year.
