Four years ago, when he didnt acquire a starting pitcher at the deadline. I'm preparing myself for our big "acquistions" to be sevy, betances, and garcia
Not so great news on Sevy, at least 6 weeks away: Â
[Hoch] Severino will be examined tomorrow to see if he can begin throwing. Will need at least 6 weeks to be ready, but could return as a 75 pitch starter or out of the bullpen

I've just about resigned myself to the fact that Severino is a non-entity this season.

Sucks about Sevy, but it’s not beyond the realm they could plan for a playoff rotation including a combo game with German, Garcia and Sevy, then Tanaka, Paxton and Happ/CC.
Purists won’t like it, but it’s entirely possible Yanks will be going to the pen in the 4th or 5th regularly in the playoffs...especially if Betances ever makes it back too.

I read that at when Sevy comes back at first he would be on a 75 pitch limit. Like at the beginning of the season all pitchers would increase about 10-15 pitches each start. So if and I know it’s a big if at this point, Sevy is able to return in 6 weeks, that would have him pitching 1st week in September. By the time the playoffs start he should be stretched out. Though in the post season with all the days off in between in the playoffs no starters will go long.
last night....6 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB and 10K. Supposedly has ridiculous stuff (FB up to 103 mph) but never been able to control it. He's been able to harness is stuff in 4 out of his last 6 starts though.
This week. The article I read says the most innings he has pitched so far is 74 and he is already in the 60's; so it is probably a good bet he will limited on his pitch count.
Some good news on the injury front, Luke Voit to be activated today.

Damn, he filthy - ( New Window )
I'd suspect if he's available it will be in a very, very limited role, or for a short period of time.
