Amare Stoudemire
"I signed with the Knicks because of James Dolan." |
Next. Nate Robinson said this.
“Guys are going to choose where they want to go. Me personally I would never choose any team over the New York Knicks. I had a great opportunity, an awesome time here in New York. It was great and I don’t understand how guys can pass up on it. |
Couple notes:
15 Man Roster is all but set
PG: Dennis Smith Jr. / Elfrid Payton / Frank Ntilikina
SG: RJ Barrett / Wayne Ellington / Alonzo Trier / Damyean Dotson
SF: Marcus Morris / Kevin Knox / Iggy Brazdeikis / Reggie Bullock
PF: Julius Randle / Bobby Portis
C: Mitchell Robinson / Taj Gibson
-Dennis Smith Jr. is giving his #5 to Bobby Portis. He might go #1 since Mudiay is gone.
-Another DSJ note, he's working with CP3 and redefining his jumpshot this year.
amare had other options, this notion he only came to the knicks because of the contract is slightly false..
along with melo could of signed as a free agent...
2 false comments people always seem to make
Frank being bumped down to #3 PG is a major improvement. Now they need to ship him out when the right opportunity presents itself.

Who else was going to offer Amare a full max? If wrong I stand corrected, I honestly don’t recall anyone willing to give him the deal the Knicks did.
Splitting hairs at this point, he was awesome with the Knicks before he got hurt and I don’t mean to dump on him. Curious to see how this comeback of his works out
Ah gotcha
Linked are the projected 2018 salaries. I am one of those guys who thinks the Knicks can get close to .500, but it is based on several assumption that need to be hit. These include:
1) Fizdale able to make sense of the extremely deep roster, with sensible rotations;
2) Smith actually having a much better J
3) Knox carrying a better game into the regular season. I think that the so-called experts are generally way wrong on this very you kid.
4) Barret having the game slow down for hi, a lot, so that his skills become way more apparent.
5) Robinson continuing to advance
Given all of that, I think we get near .500 based upon massively more depth, better shooting, better teamwork, better d, lack of the need to tank, and a whole bunch of veterans on one-and contracts with huge incentives to play their best. I think the one-and contracts were a great idea, creating incentives and leaving trade room and cap room for later.

I think this is where and when he is playing. The FIBA world cup in China, starting August 31.

Glass half full.
everyone is
thanks for the heads-up
turnover
blocked in the paint
hogs the ball and misses a wide open Iggy
Well, taking a shot from HC w/ 6 seconds left is idiotic, but yeah sure. Great play. Also the contact wasn't on a drive, but he was actually bailed out dribbling sideways towards the wing instead of to the rim w/ under 3s left
But all in all KK looked good. Iggy still balling, seems like he can get you production even in limited time. Also has been a better defender / more athletic than I expected per scouting reports
Hope this doesn't happen during the season this much (tho they do it some there already)

He’s leading the game in points rebounds and assists at the half what are you babbling about.
Another one...clever little bounce pass from Iggy to Mitch for the dunk
Pisses me off, I mean, even aside from the better FG%, WTF wouldn't you dunk if you can? WTF is the point to being tall & playing ball
But just b4 was a sweet pass to Mitch for the oop. 7A already. There was at least 1-2 other games he probably should have had 3-4-5 more As but for fouls / misses

I'm babbling about three straight awful possessions, thanks.
he definitely got stronger to
Knox to me is still wait and see, I feel like this was similar to last SL, but nice to see him start strong here
Iggy, man there's a ways to go, but he really seems to play the game right. Whatever his weaknesses, they didn't show too often in SL
Team might have had a better showing record-wise if Trier played more than 1 game
Robinson looked much the same. Not sure what to think but we'll see if he's matured come real games. Still a beast even so
Cavanaugh certainly will be on someone's G-league team, if not down the bench in the NBA for a bad team
Looking forward to the season and how he continues to develop.

knox last summer league shot 30 percent, shot much better this year
Here he jumped right in to being aggressive, playing with some motor, and defending a bit. IMO that disappeared overall during the season save a few stretches. That's what I'm waiting to see
Just imagine if he fulfills Coach K's prediction, of being a pote triple double threat, later on down the road.
This is all I care about. RJ early on looks like someone who is going to fill up the box score every night. He plays D too.
He’s looked really good. Much better than anything I saw him do in college.

Had his 3rd double-double in a row, but this time it was points and assists, just 8 rebounds.

I think in a year or two and with a system and decent players around him, RJ is going to have quite a few triple-doubles.

Would love Iggy. Seems to be a perfect kid for the Knicks... despite Hon in NYC reservations haha.

My lone beef with Beilen last year was he ran the offense through Simpson and Teske. When Poole and Iggy were by far their best offensive players. Poole actually despises Beilen and left because of Him.
Other than that, identical.
He was also SL all 1st team last year. He won't be this time. So again I'm waiting for the season. I'm excited about Iggy & RJ, but same thing...we saw KK's first season, and regardless there's a lot of development to go for all of these guys
Obviously wade was a special athlete, but his game and Barrett are similar. They're better attacking the basket and midrange and arent perimeter shooters. They're willing passers who can make players around them better.
RJ has a long way to go with efficiency and defense, but I see more wade than Harden.
