1) You mis-measured the ingredients or substituted something.
2) This calls for a very large pan not found in most home kitchens. If you used something different, or divided the batter into smaller pans or cut the recipe in half it may affect your results.

read the reviews. You are apparently the first person ever to fuck this up, lol. Many comments were that they were very moist and almost fudgey. None about too dry. I'd recheck the ingredients and directions, and yeah, sounds like they overbaked.

BTW, undercooked brownies are typically moist and "chewy".

How does one go about checking the accuracy of an oven?
Actually it's smaller than the one in the recipe.
I used a 9 X 13. The recipe calls for a 12 X 18 pan.

Actually, Ina Garten's Outrageous Brownies are the best
I love that recipe, but I actually increase the amount of walnuts to 4 1/2 cups.
