can depend on. One thing that will help is that we have some defensive backs who can cover. That should give the pass rushers more time to get home and it should allow Bettcher to blitz more often as I'm sure he wants to.
I’ve noticed a far more positive outlook from you this offseason.
You have to like the investment in OL and DL, + the investment in QB. Plus these are players you can root for and your not embaressed for your children to watch their antics. The team was relatively competitive last year, and will improve on that this year. You never know how the year will go, but if there is 1 team just burning to win in this division, and where the team is aligned up and down the stack it's the Giants.

Can we wait until they get on the field before we write them off. Carter, Golden and Ximines all have a chance and maybe a good chance to be solid pass rushers. I don’t know if they will but I’m willing to wait and see.

Golden is a proven commodity, we just have to see if he's completely over his injury
maybe age, one thing we've seen under Bettcher in AZ several guys seemed to be better used to their strengths than prior situations. Golden for one, Olsen Pierre another, obviously Chandler Jones was always good but even he added a monster year in 2017
It's nothing but optimism today, but still decent reason to hope for Carter, Ximines, Golden, Lawrence...among many others across the D

I wasn't knocking Eric at all for being positive I just noticed how positive he has been this offseason as opposed to the previous two years. It's nice to see his confidence restored in this team.
This is the most excited i have been going into a season since 2013. I was very down last year when we passed on Darnold but Barkley has more than won me over and I am very excited about Daniel Jones. I watched nearly everyone of his highlight videos and I saw a lot that I like. The practice reports has me even more excited about his upside especially the ones praising his arm strength which was my only real concern with him.
Unless techniques taught are actually counter-productive Â
I was wondering however, whether functional speed training may be of more use. His 40 time at combine was adequate if combined with strength and technique, but nothing to write home about.
...but to me, this looks like the only true reach of the Giants draft.
Hopefully, Clint Sintim turns out to be Jesse Armstead this time. :D
How is he a reach? He was drafted about where most pundits figured he'd get drafted.
Level of competition subpar and frankly, doesn't jump off the highlight reel. I didn't like him where the Giants took him. I'd have been ok with the 4th.
Good news? I have a absolutely putrid record of evaluating draft talent. Manning? PFFT. We could've had SEAN TAYLOR! :D

Sean Taylor was the guy I wanted. And Matt Schaub.
Anyway, you have to figure that the pundits factor in the level of competition when they're handing out their grades. But you could look at it this way - Ximines was picked #95 overall. That's only seven spots before the 4th Round. Julian Love went at #108, 13 picks later. Switch 'em around and Love is still a steal and Ximines isn't a reach.

Yeah, level of competition is a major red flag. Still cant believe the Giants wasted high picks on those bums Strahan (Texas Southern) and Umenyiora (Troy). :)
Seriously though....being a fan of one of those low level teams (UCF), ive always been a "if a guy can play he can play" type. I admit I only saw the VT game, but he sure as hell showed up that game! Cant wait for camp to start to see some of these kids in action.

LOL, EXACTLY. Same holds true for Lawrence and Jones - I was pissed at the 6 pick, but Lawrence is exactly who I wanted there.

We had a shot at a potential pro bowl pass rusher at 6 but at least QB situation is worked on. It may take years now to get a shot at a pass rusher early rounds
Aaron Donald,
Von Miller...
Have all worked with him.
That's one result of him adding more fiber to his diet this year.
