Heading to Denver tonight until Wed night. Could use some help. Price not a concern. Thanks!

Best pizza?
Best sushi?
Best steak?
Best breakfast (pancakes, etc.)

I've yet to find..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/15/2019 2:32 pm : link
good pizza in Denver.

But they have a ton of great restaurants.

For breakfast the Denver Diner is awesome.

For Asian fusion, Linger is fantastic.

Best Breakfast?

Snooze- be prepared to wait but worth it!

My son is a sous chef at a Restaurant TAG in downtown Larimer Square.

Best pizza?- don't bother.

Best sushi?- Sushi Den or Hapa

Best steak?- Buckhorn Exchange (do not go to fucking Elway's)

Best breakfast (pancakes, etc.)- Snooze or Sam's #3

You should really try the small Mexican restaurants and try the green chile. Hell, most food trucks alone kick ass.

of places that I have enjoyed, but the place I always go back to is Euclid Hall off of Latimer Square. A BBier turned me on to it years ago. It's a great place, with a terrific beer list and great food.
For breakfast..

I haven't tried snooze, but Sam's #3 has really good breakfast food (even if the vibe there is a little extra)...

Guard and Grace is part of the TAG Restaurant Group. My son works in the flagship restaurant TAG.
Not sure if TAG..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/15/2019 3:13 pm : link
are the restaurants Jennifer Jasinski owns/is the chef for, but right after she was on Top Chef Masters, I was out in Denver and hit up Rioja (Spanish fusion), Vendome (French) and Stoic and Genuine. All were very good.

I think she's associated with Euclid Hall too, but I haven't eaten there. If CiP vouched for it, I'd be a little leery:)

Ha, fucker! Yes, Euclid is part of TAG. We hit up Rioja as well. Euclid was a better value. A-Train from BBI worked there years ago if I recall correctly...
I didn't order..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/15/2019 3:25 pm : link
off the actual menu at Rioja. We were there for a work event and I had the best octopus ever for an appetizer and then had lamb for dinner that came with a strawberry mint sauce that I was prepared to hate and it was fantastic.

I've heard excellent things about Euclid Hall though.
And..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/15/2019 3:25 pm : link
I miss A-Train.

Mostly agree with the suggestions
Terry in CO : 7/15/2019 3:46 pm : link
I live and work in Denver and i think most of the suggestions offered above are good choices.

Best pizza? If you’re from the NE you will be unimpressed with Pizza in Denver

Best sushi? If you’re staying downtown it’s Bamboo Sushi, I prefer Sushi Den which is a few miles out of the downtown in the Washington Park area.

Best steak? Downtown it’s Guard and Grace or Capital Grill

Best breakfast (pancakes, etc.) – Snooze in Union Station is popular, as is Sam’s which is more of a diner.

Denver has many interesting restaurants. Rioja is my favorite, but some of the other suggestions Linger and Old Major over in the Highlands are also good. Other suggestions are Mister Tuna and Acorn in the RiNo (River North).

In addition to Rioja, Jen Jansinski also has Bistro Vendome, Stoic and Genuine (an oyster bar at Union Station), and Euclid Hall.

TAG is owned by Troy Guard who owns about a dozen restaurants in Denver including Guard and Grace and Mister Tuna, and TAG that are mentioned above.
Tokyo Premium Bakery
MM_in_NYC : 7/15/2019 5:09 pm : link
Great spot for breakfast. Really interesting items. Very high level of skill. Note it's a bakery and not a full service restaurant. There bacon rolls are delicious, and so is there curry bread.

As said above, Sushi Den is considered best in the area. I found it just OK. Good chutoro. Heavily dependant on whom you sit in front of at sushi bar.

Check out Hop Alley for a unique modern take on a Chinese restaurant.
I like these Best in Denver threads that pop up...
Pete in CO : 7/15/2019 5:21 pm : link
...I am still learning where some new places are!

I agree w/ Terry in CO. In my mind, the best steaks are still Del Frisco's, but it's south of Denver in the Tech Center. Elway's is close, but more expensive, and not better than DF. Guard and Grace is terrific and right in LoDo, but only time I ate there was early, and didn't have a buzz about it. (That's on me, tho.)
Breakfast - Snooze. Awesome. (just get there early...but after me.)
Best Italian - Barolo Grill on 6th Ave in Cherry Creek North. Pricey!!! But the Owner is a terrific dude (sends his whole staff to Italy every year) and has a creative and outstanding menu. Wish I could get there more often.
Best Mexican - surprised I didn't see this entry. This will cause a battle amongst Mexican food purists. Street Tacos - Marg's in LoDo or Cherry Creek North. There will be other suggestions...!

Have a great stay!
Terry in CO said it ...Old Major

...is one of my favorite restaurants. In the Highlands (north of LoDo / Coors Field area) and has a young professional's buzz about it. Charcuterie and interesting meat dishes, great beer and whiskeys. looking for something different this place is great and in a cool new trendy neighborhood.
Seems to be a lot of us out here.
Davisian : 7/15/2019 5:47 pm : link
We should like, never ever get together.

Not a restaurant..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/15/2019 5:58 pm : link
but one of the most unique ice cream stands is in the Highlands area. Little Man Ice Cream is right outside of Linger and makes a perfect dessert.
FMiC for the win...
Pete in CO : 7/15/2019 6:06 pm : link
...the way to get ice cream at Little Man is to go in a group and pay one person in the party to stand in line while everyone else takes a 20-minute walk around the neighborhood. that stuff is rocket fuel!

Send me an email or instant message if you have any questions. I work in Denver but live in Broomfield. Let me know if you come for a visit.

I'll get you higher than Richard Pryor

Ill be in Denver in August
halfback20 : 7/15/2019 11:38 pm : link

Any suggestions on best things to do? Only there a few days. One will be reserved for touring Denver, and going to a Rockies game. 2 other days are pretty much open but want to find a good hike. There are so many options its hard to know which is best.
Pick a hike that suits your schedule

You can't go wrong. They're all the best.

And Coors field is the most fan friendly park of all. You can have a blast there without even seeing much baseball.

Have fun!
