Snell vs Paxton
Nice. I got a BR update saying Severino is open to a bullpen role this year.
Jordan Montgomery continues to make progress.
Ben Heller has been used as a single inning opener for Scranton and has looked really solid.
Each could factor into the 2019 Yankees season.
I attached an article on Brooks Kriske. He was the Yankees 6th round pick in 2016. Righty reliever. He is finally healthy and having an outstanding year at Trenton . He could finish the year at Scranton and well be in the Yankees plans for 2020.

Yeah, I read that, too. Evidently, that will get him on the mound sooner than if he returns as a starter. Will be interesting to see what Cashman wants to do there.
They might've had the same players in there but at different fielding positions or batting positions, but it is pretty wild to think in over 90 games they've only played the exact same lineup twice.
No doubt the injuries played a big part in that as well as their depth when getting guys back. I think I'll be interesting to watch going forward if it continues or they go more the Death Star route down the stretch. I guess it'll probably depend on the standings but it's going to be fun to watch and discuss.
Team is a joy to watch. The sum is greater than the parts.

I'm just worried about Gardy wearing down. I hope he doesn't but he's been playing a helluva lot and more than any of us thought he would. Hopefully they can spell him a bit but it looks like they're going to ride him as long as they can.
Agreed about how much fun they are to watch and the sum bit too but they do have some damn good parts.

He keeps playing this way and wants to come back in 2020, he gets the Yankee-for-life one year at a time contract. No issue with bringing him back next year. Cashman is going to cash in some of his prospect chips before next season anyways.
Has to be for Syndergaard. No way is Deivi going for Wheeler...
they are getting ready for Montreal.

Even Syndergaard might be iffy. There is a few scouts who think Garcia is the top pitching prospect in the game now. Not Keith Law who is tremendously biased against sub 6'0" pitchers and thinks they all should be relievers. But there are some other talent evaluators who think Garcia has a way higher ceiling than Casey Mize who is trying to rehab from a dead shoulder.
not sure that had anything to do with him.

The Rays got him from the Dodgers for a half-a-handjob.
Nice play by Gio.
Kaline, Maris, Colavito, Clemente.....
A thing of beauty.
That reverse pivot is the technically correct set up to make that throw - like a slingshot effect.
Bill is right, it wasn't a canon shot, but it was dead nuts accurate.
Now light up Snell.

Even on a reverse pivot the guy is accurate as anyone I've ever seen. Not only does he have a cannon but it's almost always right on the mark. Uncanny how accurate his throws are.

No doubt but he was actually moving away from where he wanted to throw and his momentum was working against getting everything on it, yet it was still a strong enough throw to nail him. Not his strongest throw by any means but strong enough, and it was the accuracy that was the most impressive part on that one, no question.
I think that is the first time i've seen that done.

Hicks and Gardner have done it, iirc.

Agree, that the only player he goes to the METs for should be Thor.

I am really curious how much Cashman is prepared to move for arms that may help put this team over the top this year.
The Yankees would never have touched Cashner cause he has one of the worst K% rates in baseball. He has only averaged a 6.8 K/9 for his career. He pitches to contact which explains why his career has been wildly inconsistent. Right now he is on a hot streak and but it generally evens out with him cause he doesn't miss any bats.

I've heard they're still interested in Bumgarner and also one of their arms in the pen, which would obviously increase what goes back to SF. Maybe he's part of that discussion.
I'm sure the All Star break didn't help. A day off is one thing but four days has to knock these guys out of whack a bit, and throw off their timing. I think it'll probably take a week or so to get it back.
