Maybe Jamaica or Bahamas in the spring. Anyone have recommendations?
Sandals

Sandals is awesome.. Been going to the one in Negril for 25 years.
Heading to Sandals in Exuma in 7 days..
I did not go to an all-inclusive

But I did go to Baha Mar in the Bahamas. Twice last year. Loved it
Super clubs Negril or blue moon

Both in Jamaica are not cheap but a cut above sandals. I counted 35 dessert offerings one night. Also SC Negril is right next to Hedonism and u can go to the Toga party. this is a huge perk they check you in for your return flights at the club before u depart the club. When u get to the airport u just walk right to your gate past the lines. There are also 5 restaurants at the club. When u arrive there is white glove service, you are greeted with champagne and told welcome home. No tipping is allowed. It’s a cruise on land. If you are into weed I will score within 10 min, it’s ridiculous. Have fun
not bahamas or jamaica but still carribean

Only been to bahamas on a cruise.

But I've been to all inclusive Occidental Cozumel. Great beachfront, on the jungle's edge. Some of the best coral reefs in the carribean and the boat will pick up at the occidental dock for scuba or snorkel. Sailboat and kayak rental. Good food I think three or four restaurants at the resort, just down the beach from a really great seafood place if you like. Adult pool in addition to the main pool/kiddie pool area.I seem to remember about 20 minutes via shuttle to the town of san miguel. My son and I went fly fishing in the flats and had a great day. Bonefish, snook, amberjack, snapper, barracuda. Small mayan ruin on the island and easy day trip to much bigger ones on the mainland
U will.

Also the beach is private and secure. Do not stay in Montego Bay
alcohol

if you drink top shelf most all inclusive resorts advertise that they serve top shelf but when you ask for a shivas or johnny walker black label they do not have it

in Negril Jamaica is the best vacation I have ever been on. As the name says though, no kids. Great time.

I second couple swept away.
Went this year in April. Didn't want to leave. My fiance and I had a ball.
Really depends..

on what you like to do. In Jamaica, you likely won't leave the resort for a number of reasons. We honeymooned at Sandals Negril and it was perfect to relieve the stress of a wedding and kick back to have a great time. But my wife and I both agree that we'd likely never do another similar resort unless we went with a large group. It was kind of like a big frat party if you hung out by the pool. That was cool when I was 26 and just married - not my cup of tea today.

I'd probably prefer doing a couple resort if I went all-inclusive, but we've traveled to Hawaii a few times, Bahamas, St. Kitts, Cayman Island and Puerto Vallarta and just did regular resorts and then had the freedom to go off property and eat at restaurants around the area. Haven't done an all-inclusive since the honeymoon. I'd probably only recommend it for places where I wouldn't wander. Jamaica and Dominican Republic, and the DR is off the table with recent events.

Because Jamaica is a dangerous place if you leave your resort.

I'm pretty..

adventurous, but have no desire to wander through Jamaica. Crime is rampant - even some violent crime and we don't tend to travel in large groups when we vacation abroad.

Two good friends going to Jamaica at different times were robbed and beaten. One at gunpoint and one at machete point. One was outside of Kingston - so I get that. The other was near Montego Bay, which was disturbing since it is a fairly common tourist destination.

There are far too many other places I want to explore that don't have the backdrop of crime
gotcha.. i never leave the resort except for Cancun or Aruba
GMAN4LIFE : 7/17/2019 10:24 am : link
the resort there is no need for me.

I have been to Jamaica 11 times in last 30 years.. Have left the resort many times, at night with no issues.. Hell in the 80s I went to a reggae fest in Montego Bay.. took a bus from Negril to get there and back. Not one issue there or ever on that great island..
And that's fine...
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/17/2019 10:42 am : link
and dandy.

Just put me in the group that doesn't care to take unnecessary risks when there are plenty of places I've yet to explore or visit that are also awesome tropical destinations.

I think in my lifetime, I know 3 people who have been a victim of a violent crime. Two of them had it happen in Jamaica.

I also worked with a guy from Australia who hopped into a group cab in South Africa and came back just fine. Doesn't mean I'm planning on doing it anytime soon.
