Outside of Jones, George Asafo-Adjei is the most intriguing player to me that we drafted. He has been praised for his attitude and work ethic, and from what I've seen so far, is generally an easy guy to cheer for.
The Giants believed this draft was deep with talent at offensive tackle, but the reality is that Big George was a 7th round pick out of Kentucky. The Giants offensive line appears to be much improved on paper, however there are still some 'unsettled' spots in the group. Remmers is one year prove it deal coming off injury and Chad Wheeler is Chad Wheeler.
So what are the expectations for this guy? Could he contribute this year? Is he the starter-in-waiting? Practice Squad? A 7th round "we'll see what happens" project?
If he actually contributes in the years to come, that would be an added bonus to this draft.
Starters: Solder, Hernandez, Halapio, Zeitler, Remmers
Reserves: Pulley*, Wheeler
Battle between Brown, Mihalik, O'Hagan, Big George for the 8th spot and if Brown can play both C and G then I think he's got the inside track for now.
*I can also see DG pulling another Brett Jones deal and moving Pulley (or Halapio if he loses the C battle) for a late round pick, especially if Brown or O'Hagan flash in camp.
So, a less than 10% chance he winds up starting.
7th Round - DB (11%) OL (9%) QB (6%) WR (5%) DL (3%) LB (2%) RB (0%) TE (0%)
Hopefully he surprises me.
Two under the radar roster battles I am excited to see are Asafo-Adjei vs. Paul Adams for the 4th OT spot and Evan Brown vs. James O'Hagan for the second interior backup spot.
Anything more than that is a bonus

Concerns
Stance (Waist Bender), Get Off, UoH (placement),
*
Projection
Too little for projection. Need to see the following in transition
Stance change
too bent over, not efficient out to 1st strike/early engagement
*
UoH
needs to evolve immediately *
they are targets
Player Comp: body type looks like un-developed Patrick Omameh with a lot more athleticism
This doesn't say he actually makes the team, but if he doesn't have a reasonable chance, it is a failed pick. Period.
As long as he is in the final cutdown, it is easy for late draft choice o-lineman to clear waivers, and stay on the PS for an entire first season.
Is this like your first post in about 10 years? How are you?
He's also clueless re Technical OL proficiency.
Deihl started as a rookie, a terrible comparison.
Our RT position is open for the taking right now. Remmers is coming off injury so while he is penciled in as the starter he is an unknown. We have seen a few years of wheeler and from the looks of it he is what he is, a back end of the roster player. If wheeler is the starter our OL is not really as settled as we think.
Maybe he can come in and steal a spot. the Giants apparently did their homeweork on him and probably had him pegged in the 7th if available. The coach had a chance to speak on him and it sounds like the talent is there, how quickly he is able to get coached up is up to him. If he makes the PS I think we see him on the roster in 2019 at some point.
Good to see ya buddy. I miss Albany a lot.
I so, SO wish they would move back to Albany for training camp.
With someone in house at Kentucky - they probably had more info on him than normal. I'd be shocked (and probably a little concerned) if he was the starter. But, given their thinness at the position and the possibility he might be able to play a little guard in a pinch - he could grab one of those last few roster spots
