Joe Harvey could also be an option - he's pitched really well in Scranton lately and is on 3 days rest after pitching an inning on the 15th.
Either way - I think it's got to be a pitcher. The Yanks haven't even decided who's going to start the second game because it'll be so reliant on who we need to use in the first one.
But, I'd guess Boone will try to avoid Greenie and Nestor in Game 1 and try to go with those guys and hope he gets through 4-5... then you'll get some David Hale. See who's leftover after that.
explaining that there was a Yankees game about to start.
I grabbed my laptop, got out on their balcony overlooking the beautiful Atlantic, thinking, "ahhh, this is gonna be the life - Yankee baseball, the Ocean and, oh no, rain delay!
What are the chances that we actually do see some action?
I guess I can just dig the Ocean but it did seem like there was a chance for a perfect parlay.
no idea, but he does a great job of grabbing awesome video/audio and is a prime lip-reader. His voice-over narrations of them are spot-on. I just discovered him a month or two ago and he's now one of my favorite Twitter follows.
I've seen more balls called strikes against Aaron Judge in the last couple of years than I've seen almost any other hitter combined in my lifetime.
Some of the pitches these umpires think qualify as strikes on him just fucking baffle me. I get that he's taller and just bigger than most other hitters, but give me a fucking break.
He gets AB's tilted against him almost every game because of that shit. It's infuriating. Good for Boone for getting out there early and letting 'em hear it.
Judge gets more balls out of the strike zone called against him than anyone in baseball. Fangraphs studied it using Statcast data and that's what they found.

Who gets the callup for the 26th man today?

Only one more request: we take two today
Just turned on the TV here at work with the volume off (TB in-market) and I'm seeing some Rays highlights with "weather delay" across the bottom.
Hopefully they can get some ball in...

I like that Boone went after him early. Nip that bullshit in the bud or at least try to. I got a kick out of the "you need to pick it up" part.
and I think the last one with the clapping was "Wake. the. shit. up."

good rant. love it.
winning obviously cures all things, but I personally like Boone a lot. I think he does a great job.

That was some Grade A stuff.
