They won't work if you don't explicitly enable JS. I tried it but i found I was turning it on for most of the sites I used, plus my work is JS development so I couldn't use it on my work/test computers.
FWIW, I just use uBlock Origin to disable ads and I have never had a virus on any of my machines ever.
NoScript and Ublock Origin. I had to do some simple enablements for frequently visited sites that I trust. It i easy to temporarily enable a website too.
You really don't need it on a Mac in my experience, on a windows computer yes, I used to use it all the time.
Mac.
I disabled it on my mac.
I found that Firefox on the Mac is less vulnerable to the issues javascript presents than FireFox on a windows laptop and the disabling of JavaScript unnecessarily caused websites to behave differently than intended.
maybe others have different experience, but I'm on year 5+ with this same Macbook Air, and I (knock on wood) have had ZERO issues.
By year two of most windows laptops my browser is bogged down, slowness ensues, probably tons of malware, etc.
I know this is not a Mac vs Windows thread and i like both, but for this issue Mac's handle it better IMO
