1) Did nobody block in the early 80s? The tape on those rushes actually looks sped up. Fwiw, the blocking and pressure do start to look more normal towards the 90s... with blockers on the line actually accounting for the pass rushers.
2) On those fumble recoveries, the way the ball rockets off that concrete carpet really seems to allow for those fast fumble returns (the defender doesn't have to stoop down to pick up the ball, because it bounces up high- like when we play football on asphalt in the street in front of our house). You don't see that anymore in today's game with grass and field turf.
Linebackers, defensive line, and defensive backs. I counted four touchdowns by George Martin. Touchdowns by linebackers Lawrence Taylor, Pepper Johnson, Carl Banks, Harry Carson, and Andy Headen. Jim Burt with a TD. DBs Tom Flynn, Terry Kinnard, Terry Jackson, Everson Walks, Dave Duerson. And I’m sure I have omitted some others.

Watch the play at 1:52 against the Cardinals. He fucking kills the OT.
That was seriously sick. Amazing to see a 245 lb linebacker blow through an OT like that. That combination of speed and quick strike strength was just unreal at times.
I personally enjoy the blocked punt recovery against Atlanta.
