NFT: Work email font-

Sean : 7/19/2019 4:53 pm
Kind of a follow up to the earlier thread this week about CC’ing yourself in emails. I work with Microsoft Outlook, the default font is Calibri-11 point.

Do you stick with default or shake it up?

I’m a Times New Roman man myself.
Comic Sans.

Times New Roman?

I'm an Arial 10 pt guy for word, but I leave the default otherwise for email unless it's terrible.

Times New Roman has been dubbed the "sweatpants of fonts" by some.

Of course. Only heathens use anything else.
Why change it? Who cares?

While we're on the subject...hey you! You with the extra long signature, with color and another different, larger sized font...knock that shit off. We work with you. We know who you are, what your title is, all your cute little degree abbreviations. Just can it you fucking weirdo.

I thought it was a Garamond
There's three common fonts
Bockman : 7/19/2019 8:38 pm : link
Arial 10 - you're probably a stiff who hates his wife and kids. Counting down the minutes until you retire and die a little inside with each passing moment.

Calibri 10 or 12 - the young professional. You want to be taken seriously, but have just enough swag to still hang with the interns during happy hours on Thursday.

Comic Sans 10 or 12 - either a creepy older man or the "case of the mondays" secretary from Office Space. You have no sense of style or sophistication. You're likely near retirement and still hand-write do-to lists. Otherwise you essentially steal your paycheck because you bring zero value to the company, but its cheaper to pay you versus facing a lawsuit.
I'm a Calabri 12

Calabri 220 or 221 whatever it takes...

I reject Outlook and all its works. Was far more productive with a telephone, a Palm Pilot, a Franklin Planner and FP software than fucked up Outlook and its tricks.

Outlook is the Loki of production. It fools you into thinking you are being productive when all you are doing is swapping 10 emails back and forth instead of having one 3 minute call, its task and todo list functions are 25 years behind the times and its Notes function is circa 1990. Incredibly, the Office 365 version is even worse. How this POS program ever got to be "industry standard" is one of the mysteries of the universe.

So fie! I say to Outlook, its fonts and stationary.
Thats why MS pushed out Teams

to get you away from spending your days in outlook. If you haven't checked it out yet i suggest you do. it's very robust and is great at collaboration.
