Yes he can. I am not worried at all. Jones wants to get going and I doubt he would start off his tenure by holding out.

I can't imagine he won't sign. Big mistake by him and his agent IMO if he didn't. He needs to get fans behind him. I'm very confident something will happen today or tomorrow
before camp. I sure DG knows this needs to happen too. No one wants or needs egg on their face.
The salary is slotted by draft position. Usually it's just contract language like off setting money and or guaranteed money. Not much of a story here unless they remain unsigned by the end of the week.
Bosa is an example of a player who held out on the chargers due to off set language in contract offer.

I would be shocked if he did. Another thing to consider is that Jones didn't expect to go 6th overall so his contract is bigger than he anticipated on draft day. He's not the kind of person that will want to miss time due to a disagreement over guaranteed money or offset language.

Now, I have no idea what the delay is in his signing but, this could be it. Not sure why though. It seems like they get their full amount whether it comes from 1 team or 2 teams?

If the player avoids offset language, they could potentially earn more than 100% of their rookie contract.
Can rookies get no trade clauses? Given the pegs statement that Eli could continue to play for a number of years he might want one to be able to control where he goes if they stick with Eli.

Unsigned third-round pick Oshane Ximines has an agreement in place on his rookie contract, per source. Deal is expected to be signed Monday morning when Giants rookies and select veterans report.
