Overall it’s just too much, I feel like I’ve been beaten over the head with Marvel. Hope everyone enjoys it though.
I'm looking forward to Guardians 3 with Thor joining the team.
Fantastic 4 is more important to introduce because they need another brilliant scientist to replace Stark while also assuming a leadership role.
Im concerned about Black widow flopping, not like flopping like it makes 50 mill, but flopping for a marvel movie. And not for some dumb reason like i dont think a woman can lead an action movie. I just dont know how much people want to see a movie that takes place between a couple other movies and stars a character who just died.
That said im excited for Phase 4 and the disney+ stuff. No marvel fatigue for me (yet...)

This, i will see Black Widow but I think it will end up being one of the MCU's lowest grossing films because it's about a dead character. Many will not be excited for this reason but of course there will be people criticizing fans for not seeing a female lead movie despite the fact that Captain Marvel did very well at the box office.
I wasn't a fan of the fantastic four after the previous two versions but now that Feige and co. are in charge of the franchise I have high hopes. I just hope they don't make Reed Richards a weak character like they did Ioan Gruffuld's version. Who they select to play the character will be very important because he will likely be a main character in the MCU moving forward.
Looking forward to Dr. Strange the most. Natalie Portman (her character) + Female Thor sounds like a terrible combo to base a movie on but I'm sure Taika Waititi will make it fun enough to enjoy. No idea what to expect with the Eternals and Shang-Chi. The latter sounds like a tired concept unless they include his multiplying ability.

I disagree, they have 2 or 3 movies a year, and they are generally well thought out. I'm a fan.
Love that they are bringing Blade back, still love the first Blade, the sequels sucked.
Shang-Chi is an obscure character but Marvel does a ton of business in Asia. So even if the movie isn't that great it will make a ton of money in China with a Chinese super hero. And Western audiences are always open to a good martial arts style action movie. I never really liked Iron Fist or Daredevil so maybe Shang-Chi can be Marvel's martial arts hero going forward.
I have a feeling the Thor movie will be a turkey cause it seems to be more about Natalie Portman's ego. They had to woo her back with making her the lead with the female Thor storyline. I don't think they were going to do that storyline from the comics this soon and a lot of people never liked it in the comics. Portman also doesn't sell tickets and she isn't good with either action or comedy. If Waititi can make an enjoyable movie with her than he is a genius and the new Spielberg.
So this will be a passing of the torch/origin story.
Much like Hawkeye who will passing it to Kate Bishop.
In any case looking forward to see if they can keep the quality high.

Waititi saved the Thor films. As to Portman she clearly was phoning it in for the first two films, hopefully working with Waititi will get a better result.

I was very disappointed when i found out Jolie was cast for Eternals. She's a good actress but i just don't think she will be a good fit. Richard Madden and Kumail Nanjiani were great choices. I was hoping for Madden to join the MCU for the past couple of years. I was hoping that he would be cast as Reed Richards.
As for the Eternals being a bomb many people, including myself, thought that Guardians of the Galaxy was going to be Marvel's first bomb. I never read any comics growing up so when I heard that Marvel was making a movie about a talking raccoon and a tree that can only say "I am Groot" I thought Marvel was making a huge mistake. Guardians of the Galaxy is still one of my favorite MCU movies.
Antman was more than a fun little movie. Looking forward to Blade. Snipes might show up on set and demand the part lol. Read how he acted on Blade Trinity. Just a bit nuts
If it doesn't add to the bigger picture, I'm not really that interested any longer. I'm shocked the critics feel differently.

Really? I think there is a lot of storyline progression in both.
Like what? Even the mid/end-credits to Far From Home didn't add a lick of progression to the MCU; it only added to the Spider-Man arc.
Captain Marvel was an origins story and only setup Danvers integration with the MCU so she could appear in Endgame.
Black Widow will be a prequel and the two succeeding films will be prequels. It will be 2 years minimum before they can progress the MCU.

I guess we’ll see how it plays out but it looks like over the next 2 years they are utilizing the movies to introduce new characters (Black Widow 2.0, female Thor, Shang-Chi, The Eternals) and further develop their less popular characters that will be playing a bigger role going forward (Dr. Strange, Scarlet Witch).
Most of the story progression looks like it could be coming from the Disney+ shows. Obviously the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel will play big roles down the line, but they already have a huge following and don’t require the set up that the characters featured over the next 2 years require before they can play their role in the main arc.

Far From Home continued the Kree-Skrull thread and showed Fury building/working with a new force in space. This plot line was fully originated from Captain Marvel (though somewhat touched on initially in GOTG).
Black Widow is rumored to introduce a new Black Widow assassin (Florence Pugh) to take over for Johansson.
The only thing I don't love the sound of, is a female Thor, and as much I love Natalie Portman, that would seem like a terrible fit.
I find it very easy to criticize most things that DC has come out with, and that's all because of how well thought out of a product Marvel has put out. At this point, I'm just enjoying the ride.
Disney knows how to make money and Phase 4 seems to have a clear agenda. If that includes making excellent action films then i'm in. That remains very much to be seen particularly after almost walking out of "Spider-man and the Millenials".

You almost walked out of the last Spider-Man movie?
