"What the hell is Daniel Jones looking at? Good Lord. He's going to be a major bust."
On the flip side:
"Holy shit! What a throw by DJ! We got a real good one here, folks. He's going to be a star"
There's also:
"Our WRs can't catch a fucking cold"
"It's gonna be a looooooooooong season."
"The 2020 Draft Watch is on"
"NIce whiff, Remmers. If we wanted a turnstile, we would've kept Ereck Flowers"
"The fucking Jets are going to be better than us this year! How pathetic!"

I am looking forward to watching Dj's feet, presence in the pocket and making the right reads.
I want to see Peppers bring the wood on one run stop, and a pass breakup.
Can't wait.. LETS FOCKEN GO!
Im actually expecting Tanney to start. Why throw Jones in there with our top 5 tackles out and against the Jets first team defense?
Hopefully, this is an example of another overreaction. :)

gets playing time before Jones?

You would rather Jones in there against Williams's blitzing defense with backups that haven't played much offensive tackle? After solder and remmers it's Paul Adams and I don't even know who with wheeler, big George and mihalik most likely out.
I would feel comfortable with Jones coming in later if wheeler and mihalik were playing, but if they aren't then I would want him in there with solder and remmers.
Last year eli didn't play the 1st preseason game and I expect the same here. I think Jones will start with tanney and lauletta finishing up the game.
Remmers and solder have both been full participation during training camp and I would expect the starting offensive line to get some work tonight as they need to get the work in.
;)

Solder and Remmers are out tonight? Huh, that stinks.
Yup. I used to live in the DC area. One year the Redskins went 0-4 in the preseason. They won the SB that year.
But, I do want to see the starters - particularly on offense - put together a few good drives and put some points up.
Past years, we've continued to write off really bad looking offensive series' in pre-season. Classifying it all as just work in progress, knocking off rust, etc.
Turned out the offense was just actually bad.
I think we finally moved in the right direction last year. But, I do need to see a little offensive juice this preseason. Not necessarily tonight. Just a little something.
And yes, of course you can look crappy on either side of the ball in pre and then wind up being pretty darn good - but, it hasn't worked that way for us in quite a few years.
I don't think anyone worries about preseason records in the slightest. Never has been about that. For fans, it's about seeing some of the new players, especially rookies, and see how they hold up.
I don't even want to see Barkley grace the field for these next 4 games.
Yeah, and I remember more than a few media stories about "how good are these Giants?" Dave Klein (Star Ledger and then the old "Giants Insider" was the most egregious. Turned out Giants weren't very good at all.
"it's going to be a long season"
"Old man Dave Gettleman has his head up his ass"
Fire Gettleman! Fire Shurmur! Fire everybody at Jints Central!
Okay, I don't think that's an over-reaction. It's just something they do when they think the game is too boring to watch and they think they are being merciful to the TV viewers. I still don't like it.

100% this is the biggest problem the NFL has with the preseason. #1, the game is the product. Focus on it. Let the color commentators explain what the offense and defense are trying to do schematically. #2, if you INSIST on doing human interest stories, don't send us to the sideline to interview starters for the last three quarters. They've got nothing new to add - everything they say is bland and has already been said. Instead, tell us about the players on the field fighting for a roster spot. Which players are getting the most snaps? Who is making a name for themselves on the field tonight and why should we care? There are almost forty guys who will only play a few quarters of a few preseason games before being cut. Who are they and what are their stories? Better than another say-nothing Eli/Barkley sideline interview.
I hate when I have to watch the opposing team's broadcast. Their broadcasters can't be bothered to do basic research about the depth of the Giants roster. They barely mention the Giants and when they do, they only rehash all the story lines from the offseason.
Want to keep the viewers watching the game? Give us the one thing we can't get anywhere else - THE GAME. It's a shame when we have to turn to Twitter to catch what's going on in the actual game because the broadcast crew is entirely disinterested.
I'm being serious - they should invite Eric from BBI and the Jets equivalent into the broadcast booth for the second half. These guys can explain so much more than the guys who work the regular season. Would make it so much more interesting.
