Which players will wow the fans tonight?

uncledave : 8/8/2019 1:52 pm
Curious to hear the take of BBI on who will potentially shine this evening. Obviously we don't know playing times or who won't see the field at all. Do you anticipate any stellar performances/who would you like to see make a valuable impact?

Mine would include:
X-man
Josiah Tauaefa
CJ Conrad
RJ Macintosh

Your thoughts...

Mother Fucking

Jones
Dexter Lawrence will light it up...

...dude is a GIANTS FAN and this is the first Giant game he's EVER attended.

I expect an LT-like performance. Anything less will disappoint me.

hard for certain positions to 'wow'

particularly guys in the trenches. Would love to see some huge holes for Barkley (or Gallman), particularly with Hernandez pulling behind Zeitler (or vice versa).

I'd love to see Peppers active near the LOS and with tight coverage on the TE/RB. A couple INTs and PBs by the young secondary (Baker, Ballentine, Love, especially) would be great too.

And it'd be great to see Eli (or Jones if he starts) hit Shepard or Tate deep down the sideline. We're going to need someone to stretch the field this year to keep Ds balanced.

OK, maybe not LT. Charles Jefferson-like. Terry Tate-like.

And I've been here forever. I have no dupe.
The entire Defense
kdog77 : 8/8/2019 2:28 pm : link
Giants have invested lot of draft capital and free agency dollars to revamp the Defense to match up with Betcher's scheme. Given the amount of players with less than 3 years of pro experience, I don't expect them to dominate opponents but I would like to see some fire from the young guns with more instinctive/swarming type of D.

Agree. Most likely to succeed (in the first preseason game).
Giants for tonight
GiantfromWA10 : 8/8/2019 2:37 pm : link
My picks for tonight are:

-Jones
-Connelly
-Love
-Conrad

I want to see where Jones speed matches up on the NFL level. Regardless, football is back.

Paul Perkins

Latimer
I'd love to see all of the rookies stand out in some way
Rudy5757 : 8/8/2019 3:04 pm : link
Latimer is a guy we are going to need early, so I would like a strong game from him as well as a few other receivers.

Real excited to see Ballentine after all of the positive notes on him.

It would be nice to see Carter make his presence known as well as Golden. See some pass rush.

I would like to see how DJ handles pressure. I dont want ot see him get hit, but definitely see how cool he is under pressure.

We need to come out injury free so I dont want to see a lot of starters anyway but I am concerned about the OL we have available.
No

Injuries
With his speed and strength
Coach Red Beaulieu : 8/8/2019 3:19 pm : link
Latimer can be the guy to take the top off the D. He will beat routinely enough most corners 1 on 1 on a go route.

Now has he shown the ability to scare defenses with his route running, heck no.
Dexter has no NFL film
KeoweeFan : 8/8/2019 3:21 pm : link
so his debut might initially give NFL teams a challenge.

Being a Clemson fan I would love to see Gallman and Goodson give WOW performances that would save their roster positions. They have some talented pretenders at their backs.
Ryan Connelly
sjnyfan : 8/8/2019 3:23 pm : link
Really looking forward to his game tonight

Also:

*Dexter Lawrence
*Lorenzo Carter
*The rookie CBs. Maybe not an INT but will show right away they belong
*Sean Chandler
I'm not expecting too many wow plays on offense.
Klaatu : 8/8/2019 3:40 pm : link
At least not when the starting O-Line is on the bench.

Manny in CA : 8/8/2019 5:47 pm : link

Tauaefa - UT San Antonio

Ballentine - Old Dominion

X-Man - Washburn
It would be nice to see Lauletta have a big day
Milton : 8/8/2019 5:49 pm : link
He can be an important asset to the team if he delivers on his potential.
They all will
Sneakers O'toole : 8/8/2019 5:51 pm : link

Bare some semblance to the Paul Perkins from the end of his rookie season.
