RB Saquon Barkley and TE Evan Engram don't have shoulder pads on, so they're either not playing or they'll be taking a hell of a risk with their health.
much what I expected. Lots of new bodies in the secondary is causing miscommunications and confusion about responsibilities, especially since many of the players are rookies. There was also no pressure on Darnold.
A lot of guys who have never even experienced live tackling in the NFL. Pre-season and early season games are likely to be... underwhelming. Some patience will be required while these guys learn what it is to play NFL football. That includes both offense and defense.

But his arm still sucks, he can't throw the out (even though he just threw two), he gets to much air under his deep ball, and he doesn't have the processing power necessary. Did I catch everything?

The ball still floats - for sure.
But it's one read and release. So give Jones credit.

and that ball was placed perfectly. However, the CB was in perfect position and if he turns his head it may be an INT.
True, said that above too. But if he threw it seeing his head wasn't turned it was still solid. QBs do this, PGs do this (Rondo was quoted seeing head position in his periphery for example). We don't know for sure here but in that light it may have been intentional

I'm not saying i disagree with this but when you're in the red zone and the D is condensed, you can say that about a ton of TD throws. Jones saw a spot, put it there and rolled the dice. That's all you can ask. If you wait til there's no defender in a place to make a play, and you don't have Russel Wilson mobility, you're gonna get saaaaaaaaaacked.
Lucas was a complete scrub and the last guy that should comment on a QB that was drafted let alone drafted in round 1. Still, while his start is encouraging, it is vanilla 2nd string D with our 1st team o line in.
Really? He had pinpoint accuracy and most important to me, that intermediate crossing route showed me he has the arm to get the ball to the sidelines. I'm all aboard Choo Choo motherfucker.
there's a lot of times it's more about timing & touch than an arm strength issue. While there are times on film a stronger arm would have helped a missed throw, there's also times it was done thrown intentionally as such for positive results
Yeah, you should probably take your own advice there, champ.
Stop being so insecure. I just asked if it was against the Jets first team defense. Because in the regular season, QBs, you know, kind of play against first team defenses

I know I just want to shove it in that guys face. I have never seen a more unprofessional reaction to a draft pick. Lucas was literally recorded laughing in the faces of his co-workers who are Giants fans. This coming from a former UDFA scrub who never accomplished anything in the NFL as you mentioned.

I find it silly you take issue with my quite simple and reasonable post
Oh well
did all the things people had questioned in that one drive.
Like Banks said - he's a rookie and will make mistakes, but that was pretty fucking awesome to watch
You couldn't have asked for a better start. Does it mean anything? No, it's just the preseason but at least he showed us his solid arm strength and accuracy.
Jones' accuracy on that first drive was first rate.
Joe Montana didnt have a rifle arm, but was a very accurate QB. Thats most important. Im not saying Jones will be as good as Montana, but accuracy will increase his ability to succeed in the NFL.
Yeah, you should probably take your own advice there, champ.

but his accuracy is very good. In my opinion, accuracy is the most important quality in a qb, followed by arm strength. So we clearly don't have a Mahomes, but we have a good young qb.
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Was that the Jets starters?
Asking Giants fans why they are excited that their 6th overall pick performed well in his first preseason action reeks of trolldom or butthurtedness. Pick whichever one applies to yourself.
from my camp observation. He doesnt try to power every throw. That TD pass was a nice easy throw with precision. If you want all power throws, just go watch Josh Allen.
@RichCimini
Jets' coverage was pretty good on the Daniel Jones drive. Avg separation on targets (for the game): Fowler 1.51 yards, Latimer 1.79, Tate 1.01, per NFL Next Gen Stats. League average is 2.82 yards. #Jets

What? It looked good on that series. Below average? Based on what?
In any event - look up Joe Montana and Peyton Manning.

I'll say it again, obviously the results were different esp because
of a weak team at Duke...But this is much how he looked on film at Duke
While the numbers weren't great, ball placement and accuracy were always real good. Just his decision-making that got him at times, but that's expected for a rook and w/ a shit team around him
We couldn't have expected this start, nor am I writing him into the probowl or HOF today, but it just surprises me how many strong opinions on BOTH side were clearly built without watching Duke games

I was thinking this too. My brother (a Jets fan) was complaining about the "no-names" playing in the Jets' secondary. It looked to me like the coverage was decent but Jones just knew where he wanted to throw and got the ball in there. Nobody was wide open like the Jets' first drive.
I can't believe there's arguing here... there should be nothing to fucking argue about as far as Jones goes.
You could not possibly have asked for a more impressive first drive.
Is this what people are going to do all year? Toss and turn to try to turn his positives into negatives because they didn't like the pick and would rather be right about the stuff they pissed and moaned about all freaking spring and summer?
(I already know the answer to that)
Some of you guys could find a way to suck the fun out of fucking a supermodel.
I don't know enough to judge a qb accurately, so I'll keep it simple and get information from reliable sources for the more complex side of the position
This debut reminds me a lot of Wentz's. If continues this DJ may forc
Complaining that he "just played" backups forget he was throwing to Cody Latimer and Bennie Fowler.
Also, if he had played poorly, they would be first to say what a bust he is, what a fool DG is, etc.
Personally, I would not have said that. Im also happy he did well and threw great passes. And I never complained it was against the backups. I asked because if he performed against the first string which would have garnered even more respect. But someone here (not you) is over sensitive

It's going to be just like last year with those that couldn't get over the Giants passing on Darnold, Rosen, or Allen for Barkley.

Last year, some peoole avoided praising Barkley all season, because they wanted a QB at 2. Rookie of the Year be damned.
PERFECT drive as his first career drive. Absolutely embarrassing.
Absolutely correct. Would much rather have this 5/5 with TD than 0/5 with a pick. No one knows how he'll turn out. But we should be excited just like his teammates were. We're fans and haven't much to celebrate in the past 7 years. Can we at least enjoy one drive by the rookie? It's got to somewhat boost his confidence.

There were Debbie downers last year after Barkley ripped off a 38 yard run on his first carry
There was never any question over SB's talent. Basically all of the media and alot of Giants fans themselves think Jones doesn't even belong on an NFL field. It was exciting to see him go perfect on his first bit of NFL action, even if it was against second stringers.

My own words have been and are that I will root for Eli Manning until the end. Its clear you read those comments and it gets under your skin. I asked if the drive was against the first string or backups because, yes, I support Eli Manning. So what? Dep replied to my question and you could have just let it be. But for some bizarre reason, you needed to call a fan a troll. Again, Im happy for Daniel. Get over it.

This is a long layover... I almost wish they'd just call the game at this point. I don't want to see guys jump back on the field after they've tightened up and wind up getting hurt.
When they resume, hopefully we go with all backups - just nervous about this amount of time between action increasing the odds of injuries occurring.
I said during draft day, trade up to the #1 pick if you have to for this guy. Just kidding, that was nice to see though, granted against second-stringers, but what else can you ask for?

Hah, I'm not sure how that'd work... I know they won't actually do it.
I just feel like this is a pretty long delay and don't want to see anyone on either side get hurt because of it.
I'd be fine with that being all for Jones tonight. Give him the ol' Costanza and let him just go out on a high note.

Because there were fans critiquing Jones on his drive, some who hated the pick. The same that happened last year when people didn't like the Barkley pick.
Instigating is an interesting word considering the flow of the conversation on this thread. Did you read the whole thread to see context?
It's perfectly fine to be critical of the pick, and appreciate the success.
I don't think a RB was a good investment that high, and believe it would take a historical career to justify the 2nd overall pick.
Doesn't mean I don't appreciate or cheer for him.
But you're a reasonable, and valuable contributor to the forum. I imagine it doesn't escape you the fans that are actually being talked about. The ones where pride impacts their reasoning.

Both teams stretching once again.
Delay right now is 45 minutes. Long enough for players to cool off. Have to think coaches will error on the side of caution with who they put back on the field.
I could see if they were SB contenders and wanted a proven QB to lead them over the hump, but this team is not on that level yet. I just feel like playing Eli instead of letting Daniel Jones develop and gain experience is prolonging the rebuilding process.
Plus lets be honest, it will just be more exciting watching Jones under center this year than Eli. And it seems like the players feel the same based on their reaction after his TD pass.
every pass was exactly where and how it should have been
This is true too. College film didn't show a HUGE arm, but there were a lot of fantastic touch throws that look 'floaty' yet there are more than a few times this was appropriate, and not due to a weak arm
I dont have any expectations of the Giants having anything other than a 5-11 type record this year, but if Jones gets a lot of time and shows promise it will be a smashing success.
Defense could be remarkably bad, but if Jones shows good signs this year all is well going forward.
I really hope Shurmer just calls it a night for Daniel. The field is wet, he'd be going back in with backup linemen and backs, etc... let's just leave this be and let Tanney or Lauletta get the rest of the reps.

Alex Tanney and Kyle Lauletta doing most of the warming up on the field for the Giants before this re-start. Maybe the Daniel Jones show is over for the night?

Second-team offensive line: LT Nick Gates, LG Evan Brown, C Spencer Pulley, RG Victor Salako, RT Chad Slade. Gates is a young OL to watch. Has mostly worked at guard, but has tackle experience at Nebraska.
Did Jones look like he might have target locked on his primary receivers? Not criticism. I just want to check if anyone else sees that.
I loved his grin in the huddle before the TD pass. It was like he knew where he was gonna go and that it was going to be a TD.
Looked like a few timing routes and on the TD he saw the Cover 2 and was waiting for Fowler to get in position so he could shove it in the turkey hole.
It's interesting to see Gates and LT. I know they're missing several OT's but Gates has impressed at guard in practice. It appears that he has a very good chance of making the team. If he can also play some OT then that just cements his spot on the roster.
No matter the shit we give one another, you and I both were the leaders of the Anti-Haskins brigade so at least we can say we are in sync for that one.
It's not ridiculous. If he put Jones back out there and he got hurt, we'd never forgive him and we'd say he was being reckless and stupid.
That was a long, long delay. This is the correct move.
We have 3 more games for Daniel to get reps.
If Eli is the starter he gets 3 quarters in game 3. Next week we still have 4 QBs to play. So give DJ one quarter. Game 4 he might get a half. So hell get maybe 4 quarters and a series of play in 4 games. Not enough if hes gonna play relatively soon. Its what preseason is for.

Yeah, the no names covering the all pro receivers that are Bennie Fowler and Cody Latimer lmao, Barkley wasnt even playing. Golden Tate had 1 catch for 5 yards and the coverage was right there but it was a perfect throw by Jones.
but IMO from a ref's perspective, letting that play out is the more appropriate choice IF you're not sure. Because if you call it incomplete and it WAS a fumble it's a huge gaffe
That said, they were lost. IMO you call the TD if you're letting it play out, not wait and look around because you have no idea
Yeah the moment I heard him the first time after the draft, it's Eli with a slightly different voice. Same Ums, same delivery or 'drawl' if you will, very aw shucks esp so early in his rookie yr
He's been having a great training camp and now it is carrying over to the preseason games. Every year we hear about WR's looking great in practice only to disappear in the preseason games.
I actually enjoy watching the 2nd halves of these preseason games. I KNOW what the starters can do; I want to see what the kids look like, see if anyone stands out. Most of your starters arent going 100% anyhow, whereas the "depth" is fighting for their NFL lives.
Really crisp QB play -- have to give Shurmur a lot of credit in that area.
Agreed. I actually think Tanney has played pretty well tonight.
We have the right coach to develop Jones. His game management and other aspects of his coaching may be points of contention - but he knows what he's doing with QB's and I am confident he'll get the best out of Daniel.
The past rush looked better than it did to start the season
I actually may be more excited how clean the pocket was for Jones than Jones performance and I was very impressed by Jones. Welcome to the NFL defensive rookies you will adjust to it. Connelly looks like a player. The team as a whole looks like an NFL team a big improvement over the past few years. Yes it's only one half of the first preseason game but the team just looks better.
I'll be switching to Arizona as soon as that starts. Interested in
has got to be out of its mind if they think this "challengable" PI rule is a good idea. Every single play downfield there is a degree of contact. This is going to make the game even longer and will make people nuts
Can't deny what happened there with that shot -- but I wonder how many plays one-on-one if you really take a look in slow motion that's happening. Wrong or right that's really going to change the game.
guarantee if the calls are going to be like that - you will see several games impacted this year. They will have to scrap or reword the rule to only be used on egregious errors.
That was not just "some kind of contact". That was blatant pass interference. Just because the official's view was blocked doesn't mean it wasn't blatant pass interference. The camera caught it and it was ruled correctly. I just don't understand the view that even though it was clear on the replay, its somehow wrong to overturn it. Why have rules if you don't enforce them. I could see close, matter of opinion< plays, but that was clear.
it truly will be matter of opinion subject to the officials opinion if it was important enough to the game to overturn. Sorry, can't buy it. if the replay is ambiguous or not quite clear, be conservative and don't overturn. But that one was clearly, unambiguously against the rules.

you are going to have that type of contact several times a game.
Look at how many times Beckham was mugged.
These aren't the type of calls replay is supposed to remedy. It is supposed to be game-altering blatant calls like the NO game.
Think about what kind of calls this will overturn in key spots
oh my God the NFL has no idea what it has done. I tell you what, this is going to cause throwing downfield to be much more productive kind of like three point shot in basketball. Now pass interference is going to encourage the downfield game. Big receivers are going to have a big year. The Giants should throw downfield to Engram a lot.

I get it - but that play is exactly why the rule will suck. We are going to go back and look for arm bars or hand grabs and make game-altering calls. It is going to suck. Hell, we'd have had a beef in several games with OBJ getting grabbed.
That's not the type of play the rule was meant for - and it is a terrible and reactionary rule anyway
Again funny I thought it was a questionable pick
at the time man he sticks like a burdock .
That was a spectacular catch by White ..
Well anybody questioning the past two drafts
all this negative crap on DG have a nice dish of Crow .

So we're putting more on the refs' plates when it comes to subjective calls. Spot fouls that decide games are now up to the refs to decide if "it's import enough to the game to overturn"? So you're saying the refs now can't be consistent and have to go beyond what they see on the tape and decide whether the call is "important enough" to overturn?
The refs get a lot of shit but the league doesn't do them any favors, this is another example. That call was obvious but you can find by the book PI on almost every play, I don't want a football game decided by whether or not that ref wants to call it by the book or use his discretion based on game situation.
Heading. Getting contributions from our middle round picks is huge. We had nearly a decade of just not good drafts. The draft is more than the 1st and 2nd round and the Giants havent done that under Reeces tenure. Gentleman seems to be getting us on the right track. I see a more well rounded team here.

You're misinterpreting that. I was replying to Fatman's assertion that it should only be called it its important enough to the game. I am definitely not in favor of that. It should be called if it is clearly shown to violate the rules unambiguously.

The league really doesn't do them any favors. They had a ref seminar at the combine one year and I asked why they didn't simplify the rules to be less subjective and I was told - "You're asking the wrong guy. That comes from the top".
I would try and do two things if I were put in charge of the rules:
1) Put an emphasis on calling blatant fouls that directly impact the action or point of attack
2) Have less subjectivity in rules, the catch rule for instance
Calling a minor brush of contact at the 6 yard zone on the opposite side of the field on a 3rd and 18 should never be called.
The goal should be to eliminate game-changing calls, not be perfect.
Tanney is the one auditioning for another team. Lauletta is Jones backup in another year. They gonna carry him. That was excellent work opening the route by selling his hips to the defender to fool him to cover the outside route.
get excited about the future...you can definitely see an improvement in the 2nd and 3rd tier players...imagine what another couple of good drafts could do

At this point none of us knows which of them will go, perhaps not even the coach. I'm leaning toward keeping Tanney. I suspect they might want the mix of Eli, a good looking rookie draft choice in Jones, and an experienced veteran in Tanney rather than a second year guy who's never taken a regular season snap.
2. Get off the field on third downs
3. No injuries
Top 10 this
What if that
Its such lazy bullshit.
Bell is suited up, not playing. Barkley suited up...also not playing
@RVacchianoSNY

RB Saquon Barkley and TE Evan Engram don't have shoulder pads on, so they're either not playing or they'll be taking a hell of a risk with their health.
Looks like Love blew the coverage.
Looks like Philly
Nice time in the pocket for Darnold to make nice throws too.
Bad series for Love.
Dude. Its one thing to post on a board you are not a fan of. But take this shit out of here to your own board.
For the love of God, why are you here? Go to Gang Green Interactive or wherever.
My guess is they'll have an opportunity to redeem themselves in approximately 5 minutes.
Preseason champion! Why are you and your miserable life still here?

It didn't take long for this loser to show up. Why are you on a Giants message board during the Jets game?

Not really. This is an update of the uni's we introduced in 1990. Philly was still in silver/green back then

On the 3rd and 6 pass to Herndon it certainly looked as if Darnold had to scramble and avoid some pressure. Nice play/throw.

One series in preseason..oye vey
of course not, if he was here he would say "who cares it's just the preseason it means nothing."
He's a top QB, Hall of Famer, can still lead a team to the playoffs and win playoff games. His play was unfairly maligned last season
Lmao
Even for that nimrod Shurmur and his crew
That's rarely an INT and almost never a pick 6 considering his location on the field. It was a nice pass defense by a good player. Nothing more
2. Two third downs given up
3. TD given up on first drive.
4. Muff kickoff
5. No running lanes
6. Holding penalty
7. Shitty punt
christ I know its preseason, but thats pathetic.
It's so persistent no matter who coaches the team that I'm wondering if an order to run it was left in Wellington's will.

AND the TD wow good shit. DB might have made a play on it but with his head turned, a very nice toss
Nice to see him dropping passes into tight windows.
And we have Barkley
Haha.....nice drive, however Im sure theyll be growing pains along the way. Pretty impressive though.
The ball still floats - for sure.
But it's one read and release. So give Jones credit.

Im surprised no bootleg or rollout plays

Caause he made some great throws. Good ball placement.
True, said that above too. But if he threw it seeing his head wasn't turned it was still solid. QBs do this, PGs do this (Rondo was quoted seeing head position in his periphery for example). We don't know for sure here but in that light it may have been intentional

Maybe because this was his first in-game action in a professional game, are you fucking serious?
I'm not saying i disagree with this but when you're in the red zone and the D is condensed, you can say that about a ton of TD throws. Jones saw a spot, put it there and rolled the dice. That's all you can ask. If you wait til there's no defender in a place to make a play, and you don't have Russel Wilson mobility, you're gonna get saaaaaaaaaacked.

It's the only way to stop Daniel Jones! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Lucas was a complete scrub and the last guy that should comment on a QB that was drafted let alone drafted in round 1. Still, while his start is encouraging, it is vanilla 2nd string D with our 1st team o line in.
;>)
Not for nothing Jones looked pretty damn good, FWIW, in a pre-season game.
Defense looked better after the 1st series.

Are you sure - they have the game on live and it is 0-0
He must lurk on BBI!
😉 ;)
Joe Montana didnt have a rifle arm, but was a very accurate QB. Thats most important. Im not saying Jones will be as good as Montana, but accuracy will increase his ability to succeed in the NFL.
WFAN says it will be at least 30 minutes. People paid for this game so I don't see how you can cancel it this early.

Jets' coverage was pretty good on the Daniel Jones drive. Avg separation on targets (for the game): Fowler 1.51 yards, Latimer 1.79, Tate 1.01, per NFL Next Gen Stats. League average is 2.82 yards. #Jets

Why would saquon stop Jones?
Thanks Dave!
What? It looked good on that series. Below average? Based on what?
In any event - look up Joe Montana and Peyton Manning.
I asked if it was against the first string defense, thats it. Take it easy. Jesus.

Love what Jones is showing; hope it continues when he has to go through some progressions.
Some people here suck.
learn how to read defenses ect.....
It couldn't have been better.
Time will tell, but compare the composure of Jones in his first drive versus the "amped up" first game of Webb.
Also, if he had played poorly, they would be first to say what a bust he is, what a fool DG is, etc.

I was thinking this too. My brother (a Jets fan) was complaining about the "no-names" playing in the Jets' secondary. It looked to me like the coverage was decent but Jones just knew where he wanted to throw and got the ball in there. Nobody was wide open like the Jets' first drive.
There still isnt a QB controversy to start week 1 though.
No they really don't.

Last year, some peoole avoided praising Barkley all season, because they wanted a QB at 2. Rookie of the Year be damned.

Is this what people are going to do all year? Toss and turn to try to turn his positives into negatives because they didn't like the pick and would rather be right about the stuff they pissed and moaned about all freaking spring and summer?

but his accuracy is very good. In my opinion, accuracy is the most important quality in a qb, followed by arm strength. So we clearly don't have a Mahomes, but we have a good young qb.
What? It looked good on that series. Below average? Based on what?
In any event - look up Joe Montana and Peyton Manning.
WTF are you talking about below average arm strength what are you CNN > Good lord thats just not true !
There was never any question over SB's talent. Basically all of the media and alot of Giants fans themselves think Jones doesn't even belong on an NFL field. It was exciting to see him go perfect on his first bit of NFL action, even if it was against second stringers.
Yup
To be fair Garrett will do that to a lot of people

Just pointing out why Giants fans might be happy since this guy has been trashed since April to now.
I saw the Flowers hold but it's not him against Garrett. Flowers is playing LG not LT.
On his hold, Flowers grabbed his guy by both shoulders on a running play and threw him to the ground.
I remember Drew Boylhart said he would do that in his draft profile of Flowers. Hasn't learned a lot.

When they resume, hopefully we go with all backups - just nervous about this amount of time between action increasing the odds of injuries occurring.

I just feel like this is a pretty long delay and don't want to see anyone on either side get hurt because of it.

Same team, men. Same team.
8 looking sharp.
Plus lets be honest, it will just be more exciting watching Jones under center this year than Eli. And it seems like the players feel the same based on their reaction after his TD pass.
This is true too. College film didn't show a HUGE arm, but there were a lot of fantastic touch throws that look 'floaty' yet there are more than a few times this was appropriate, and not due to a weak arm

Second-team offensive line: LT Nick Gates, LG Evan Brown, C Spencer Pulley, RG Victor Salako, RT Chad Slade. Gates is a young OL to watch. Has mostly worked at guard, but has tackle experience at Nebraska.

Looked like a few timing routes and on the TD he saw the Cover 2 and was waiting for Fowler to get in position so he could shove it in the turkey hole.

Good. I would loved to have seen another few drives for Daniel, but this is the smart move. We've got 3 games left for him to get reps.
The pick 6?
These "scrubs" were going to play the majority of the game anyways.

Jets' coverage was pretty good on the Daniel Jones drive. Avg separation on targets (for the game): Fowler 1.51 yards, Latimer 1.79, Tate 1.01, per NFL Next Gen Stats. League average is 2.82 yards. #Jets
I was thinking this too. My brother (a Jets fan) was complaining about the "no-names" playing in the Jets' secondary. It looked to me like the coverage was decent but Jones just knew where he wanted to throw and got the ball in there. Nobody was wide open like the Jets' first drive.
Yeah, the no names covering the all pro receivers that are Bennie Fowler and Cody Latimer lmao, Barkley wasnt even playing. Golden Tate had 1 catch for 5 yards and the coverage was right there but it was a perfect throw by Jones.
That said, they were lost. IMO you call the TD if you're letting it play out, not wait and look around because you have no idea

Has Carter been playing?
I think it's going to be an issue all year.
We were getting push on a few pass plays, but we weren't able to get home. Which seems like it has been an issue for a long time.
Pass rush, WR talent and OL depth are the missing components here that I think we'll need to make us contenders.
The Giants will be a better team this year - but I think Gettleman needs one more offseason to make this a real playoff team.
Yep. The key to surpassing Perkins on the depth chart is just to sit on the bench and let Perkins play

I actually enjoy watching the 2nd halves of these preseason games. I KNOW what the starters can do; I want to see what the kids look like, see if anyone stands out. Most of your starters arent going 100% anyhow, whereas the "depth" is fighting for their NFL lives.
Agreed. I actually think Tanney has played pretty well tonight.
We have the right coach to develop Jones. His game management and other aspects of his coaching may be points of contention - but he knows what he's doing with QB's and I am confident he'll get the best out of Daniel.
Yeah, but dont forget that this is mostly a blitzing defense for pass rush and theyre obviously not going to do that tonight.
I would love to see Evan Brown or James O'Hagan beat out Pulley for the backup job but that won't happen because the coaches like Pulley.
You should only be able to review blatant calls.
Now we're going to have borderline shit used to change the outcome of games.
Yup that's a good play, and holy crap if that is gonna be the type of play turning into a penalty.
They will call that. If he didn't close his hand it was fine.
But yeah...here we go with more flags.
Sheesh
Hell, in a close game, just keep throwing up bombs and pick one that looks iffy and challenge it
4th quarter - throw the challenge flag - what do you have to lose?
4th quarter - throw the challenge flag - what do you have to lose?
A Time Out?!
Why not? It will probably work half the time.
Yup.
FU Roger.
If the NFL were to ever enforce RBs lowering their head as a penalty, might as well live in an empty backfield set.
This is getting unwatchable. Who wants constant intervention by the refs?
Look at how many times Beckham was mugged.
These aren't the type of calls replay is supposed to remedy. It is supposed to be game-altering blatant calls like the NO game.

Amen, this is where the meat and potatoes part of the roster comes together. Good stuff
Very nice throw by Lauletta.
Human error is part of it, although you try to do the best you can.
On the interception, technically it probably should have been overturned as well since the first one was called.
This rule opens up a huge fan of worms
at the time man he sticks like a burdock .
That was a spectacular catch by White ..
Well anybody questioning the past two drafts
all this negative crap on DG have a nice dish of Crow .
And can return kicks too...pretty impressive for a guy coming from a small school.
Great trade up, Jerry.

it truly will be matter of opinion subject to the officials opinion if it was important enough to the game to overturn. Sorry, can't buy it. if the replay is ambiguous or not quite clear, be conservative and don't overturn. But that one was clearly, unambiguously against the rules.

You're misinterpreting that. I was replying to Fatman's assertion that it should only be called it its important enough to the game. I am definitely not in favor of that. It should be called if it is clearly shown to violate the rules unambiguously.

The refs get a lot of shit but the league doesn't do them any favors, this is another example. That call was obvious but you can find by the book PI on almost every play, I don't want a football game decided by whether or not that ref wants to call it by the book or use his discretion based on game situation.
Game flow would be so much better too
TD Jones !!
Maybe just 3 way!
Where within 5 yrds of LOS he should have pushed him into the backfield, allowing him to stay in better coverage while running to the SL
