It's fine if Eli starts - there should just be a very short hook.

If the team starts 0-2 or 1-3 and the offense isn't humming, that's where you make the switch.

Not when we're 2-7 and it's all out of reach already.

We just need to be careful with the sample sizes here. Eli literally played 3 plays. Jones played one series.

Daniel looked incredible - couldn't ask for more than that. But I don't want to get TOO far ahead here.

Neither is he likely to start week 1, nor is he likely 'ready to go' just because of 1 good drive

He might be one of the lucky few to transition easily, but that's a bit nuts!

They are kidding themselves if they think this season is about winning now. Jones is the future: good or bad. They need to start that this year. They need to go deep in the playoffs to justify Jones sitting on the bench all year.

Jets defense during the Jones drive was half starters and half second stringers.

The WRs weren't really separating, so if that was the case, it's an indictment on the WRs and not Jones. He threw the ball with accuracy and timing. He was perfect on that short drive against tight coverage regardless of what "string" was playing.

Luckily for the rest of us Shurmur isn't saying it. One drive vs the opponents seconds isn't going to make that happen.

Great start for the young man. Looking forward to watching him continue to develop and the rest of the NFL loudmouths eat crow...when he's ready.

I think the Giants want to make this move as soon as possible, open up the offense, and get these young guys fired up.

Week 1 is a stretch. Eli will get his last starts. But he won't get many. Jones will be the starter BEFORE the season slips away, not after it does.

Jones looked great. I was at the game, that drive was electric. He was very accurate. He had great poise. Crowd loved it.

One preseason series and we should start him? I don't think so.

Eli starts the season and we'll take it from there. If he wins, he continues to play. That's how it has to be, for now.

it’s a matter of when not if. Not saying Jones will start week one but it will likely be before the end of the season and bases on the last couple of years possibly by Halloween when the team is out of contention.

The best player plays at every position. When he believes Jones is better, he will play.

Face the facts now. The entire team rallies around Daniel! Let him go through the fire from day 1. Who cares what Eli makes this year, this is his final year and he and LT are the 2 greatest Giants of all time. Give him his money and say farewell in the winter or spring. Eli is a HOF based on those 2 superbowl runs... but he is far, far, far away from that player he once was.
