I liked him a lot leading into the draft - but I hope he's a complete bust now that he's in DC. His behavior during draft night kinda bugged me and some of his comments thereafter or around that time rubbed me the wrong way a little bit too.
So, after the draft was over, I felt a little better about things and wasn't so upset about passing on him.
Now that he's a Redskin, I hope he's awful. I don't root for my opinions at the expense of the Giants. :)
That said - again, we have to be careful with sample sizes.
We've seen a lot of really good QB's have dreadful debuts. We can't get too gaga over what Jones did or already declare Haskins a bust based on 1 preseason game.
So, this is the start I'd have signed up for - no doubt. But there's really not much to draw conclusions on tonight. It's just a very small, initial step in each guys' respective career.

Seemed like the dad was a dodo bird and Haskins himself had some maturity issues. Didn't seem like the drama free approach Gettleman is taking.

But I'll be thrilled if Haskins sucks.
I was like that with Lamar Jackson last year. I was high on him prior to the draft, then as it got closer, he was doing stupid stuff like having his Mom serve as his agent.
Off-field arrests and things like that are obvious red flags, but the family things are red flags too and probably impact a player significantly. Look at Eli Apple.
the skins fans are happy with his showing tonight outside the 2 picks, which of course theyve blamed on the WRs
One of the picks was a flare pass to a RB, hard to blame the RB..he floated it...tighter windows in NFL.
Second pick he gunned it over the middle and the two players closest to the ball were Browns players..it looked well off the mark..now maybe a WR ran the wrong route and Haskins went to the correct spot..but fact remains only players at that spot were two Browns and no Skins so from outside looking in that really looks like an errant throw by Haskins...well off the mark.
but I'd be interested to hear if he has anything to say tomorrow. I know, just one game, preseason, blah, blah, blah, but just great to see 8 out of ten draft picks look great(the other two didn't even get to suit up).
There's not one person who would need to eat a bigger crow sandwich if things progress in this direction.

I came to this thread to say exactly this. The pick 6 was just a welcome to the NFL type play. Second was a bad pass. Outside that he actually made some really quality throws, including one in the hole 40 yard down the field against a cover 2 that his WR proeceddd to fumble. Not many guys can make that throw.
I was pretty high on Haskins until all these red flags started popping up a week before the draft with his family and handlers. Tough to tell how he'll transition with pressure in his face, but if he plays this year he'll def find out. Goog Gog that oline was atrocious. Skins are going to be real bad this year.

Do you feel better now that you got that off your chest? As you say, amongst many various thoughts, it’s a sample size.
But Haskins didn’t look very comfortable dealing with questions after the game. Chewing gum and just acting weird. Not bad by any stretch but It’s one game and he’s already looking slightly cranky or moody? Good luck with that.
Oh my. That kid needs to sit for much or all of this season. The best thing for us would be for the Skins to rush him out there.
I saw some bad footwork, some bad vision, some birddogging, a lack of escapability from clean blitzers, and inconsistent touch on his throws.
Oof. The kid probably shouldn't be out there at all this season. I hope they play him and it's a glorious mess.
Saw the same. Hasn’t cleaned up his mechanics at all. Still cancels his lower body out of his throwing motion. Still gets too flustered under pressure and he still has the bad forced throw under pressure too.

Root for our guys, nothing more...
Weird response... but thanks for the pointless/obvious advice?
on another note in our division Sudfield broke his hand Â
Haskins for 6 - ( New Window )
He's busy planning on how to flip Trent Williams for a first.

Don't forget that Gettleman is the MVP of the Skins!
