Daniel Jones @Giants
had the best vision and anticipation of any QB in this year’s Draft. On his TD pass he shows it by throwing the ball at the right moment so the defender has no chance to make a play on the.ball. Impressive debut @DukeFOOTBALL

Yeah, some are doubling down - meaningless, yada yada. Others are deflecting - now claiming that Shurmur never wanted to draft DJ. And then I'm sure there will be plenty that will deny that made negative comments and were fine with the pick.
WTF. How can their be SO many polarizing opinions on this kid?
I know Casserly is borderline senile but this is weird.

Because people are stupid and lazy. They hear one take, see one clip and make up their opinion. Then the flock of morons follow in step. Then they have an agenda against DG since he traded OBJ after saying he didn't sign him to trade him.

Because a lot of people want to sound smart without putting in the work, so they regurgitate what someone else says and so on and so forth.
I gaurantee you half of these Twitter media nitwits and draft "experts" really have no idea what the hell they're looking at when they "scout" a player.

yeah, Sy wasn't alone. I remember a few scouts saying he would wait for his receivers to get open vs throwing them open. That he would pat the ball an extra time before throwing. With video to back it up.
Whatever. I'm happy he didn't show those traits last night and hopefully he can build on this performance next week

say that his anticipation left much to be desired?

I'm sure most don't in any way scout.
I'm constantly in the film room and Kapernick is better than Joe Montana - Some idiot on ESPN
He played backups, vanilla, etc.
They won't talk about Haskins though.
If you want you can look up Chris Carter with "hot takes" so bad he's gonna have to start using a "fall guy" to make his statements for him.
Did you know Daniel Jones isn't 6'7"?
It has to be an inexact science to figure out if the WR is making a play or if the QB is right, especially if drops come into play.
I'd be willing to bet everything he never saw him play and just watched Youtube videos on his ipad.

Has anyone heard what the people who royally ripped the pick on draft night had to say?

I briefly saw a clip on YouTube with him this morning discussing it.
You can tell it bothered him that Jones did well and Haskins played poorly. Goddam hilarious. 41-0.

Well, unlike most here, I watched many of his games and wasn't blown away by any of his physical attributes. Although I do like his athleticism, especially versus the statuesque Eli. And I still think there is a reasonable debate that he was more the beneficiary of playing under Cutcliffe.
I wrote this the other day. I can name other players I watched at smaller football schools - like Duke - who at least demonstrated plus-skills that would warrant a high pick/investment.
Elway played at Stanford when they weren't the Stanford of today. But his skills just busted through the TV. Roethlisberger played at Miami of Ohio. But his arm and play-making skills were tremendous. Steve McNair at Alcorn State. His throwing, movement, and athleticism were in another class. I can list more, but you get the idea.
So acting like taking Jones high was a slam dunk is, to quote my friend Fat-Mara in Charlotte, ponderous...
Create an over-the-top take and then if the wildly high expectations aren't met, claim the pick was a bust.
Phil Simms isn't in the HoF. If Jones has a career run like Simms did (sans the injuries), we'd all sign up for that in a heartbeat.

Maybe I'll just take BDUBS word while he scouts from his barcalounger in his home?
I saw him play live last year against clemson and Wake and he was not impressive at all outside of his mobility.
I saw some nice throws, but I was also on my 5th jameson at 4 PM.
I know nothing but knew the Giants would draft him.

And UVA, hardly a powerhouse, owned him for 3 years.

Carter is pretty salty this morning.
Guys like Max Kellerman Ryan Clarke are just delusional .
I wanted to pass on a QB this year and build the rest of the defense. Allen was who I wanted at #6. I hope I'm wrong, and certainly believe the pounding he's taken since being drafted has been ridiculous. He's on the Giants. Let's give him a chance, and not call him a "bust" when he inevitably makes rookie mistakes.

I think it was 42 drops. Think they said that on the telecast last night.
...yes! But don't overlook the protection he received. He had a huge pocket and could have made a phone call before throwing the ball.
