Thought I'd share another Don Lee baseball story. Nestor Chylak was an American league umpire for 25 years (when the NL and AL had different crews) and a crew chief for a number of them. He umpired in five World Series. Don, who was a starting pitcher for about a dozen years in the Major Leagues, told me today that anytime he was starting a game against the Yankees, Nestor, who hated the Yankees, would walk up to the mound at the start of the game, put the game ball in Don's mitt and say to him "just get it close today" :)...
...I haven't heard in decades!
