We will have a ton of FA money under the cap. The most important for a young QB is putting quality OL around him. We still have RT to fix as it’s not Remmers and the 7th round guy won’t be close to ready. OL is one of the few positions that free agency delivers value since they have a shelf life longer than most positions.
You draft the skill and edge positions to avoid the over pay in FA, and most quality edge players with years ahead of them never hit FA.
Maybe 1 high end edge rusher if possible
I would also be fine with mid level signings , as in an ILB who sets the tone and can cover/tackle machine
Maybe a top FS that may not break bank
Looks like wr has a ton of top end talent in draft and s9me top O-line prospects. Would look to land our potential #1 wr in first rd if it makes sense
But funny how potentially drafting well in mid rounds changes the whole dynamic and future cap usage
but I would be looking at the OT from University of Georgia (Andre Thomas ?) who will probably be the 1st OT off the board. He can replace Solder when his contract runs out.
More importantly without taking time to look it up Â
Who do we have coming up that will need a new deal that we can use some of that cap on? That’s where good drafting comes into play instead of overpaying other fa’s have our own talent that’s worth resigning at most likely a cheaper deal
Remers/Golden replacement or upgrade looks atractive now but if X and Zo turn out to be special we can just draft depth at the edge and Remmers could eaisly be better then anyone else at RT

Him and the edge guy from Ohio State would be my top targets
Assuming they're not re-signed by their teams before they hit the open market, there will be several good, young players at RT and ER who will be available in free agency. However, none of them will come cheap. Far from it, in fact.

I would hope that a premier OT is drafted. Someone who can hold down RT and eventually replace Solder. Hernandez and Zeitler will need new contracts in 2 years (after 2019 season). We can't also be extending Solder making the 3 the highest paid at their position.
With regards to Edge, the only one that should have a Brinks truck backed up for is Yannick Ngakoue. He continues to earn top money and they won't have the room after paying Ramsey. With Josh Allen in the fold, Yannick won't be a priority.
I was just answering the OP's question. I'd much rather build through the draft, and next year looks like a good one for OT's. Still, you can't deny the effect that signing Kareem McKenzie had on the Giant offense. It was well worth making him the highest paid RT in the league at that time.
Regarding Ngakoue, he's going to cost upwards of $90-$100 million. That's a lot of cash to lay out for one player, even a premier pass-rusher like Ngakoue. Of course, if Carter, Ximines, and Golden fail to produce, it might be worth it after all.

If a true dominant RT is available, it is one thing. Daryl Williams coming off a 1yr prove-it deal is not the guy. He'll want to get paid. I just don't think paying top dollar (inevitable for first tier FAs) for the like of Williams is good business. Better keep drafting and not waiting to the bottom rounds hoping to find a gem.
With regards to Edge, let's hope Carter, X-Man, and Golden produce. If Golden doesn't produce, he'll be gone. If he does bounce back, is he worth signing to a contract like D-Law? Yannick will get D-Law money and will be worth every penny. Never injured and keeps piling up the sacks.

The market for LT's in 2020 blows. 2021 might be the time to cut Solder loose if the Giants can draft his eventual replacement in 2020.
He and Gettleman believe in adding at least 1 good OL every offseason.
