the best way d-lineman get a pass-rush is by doing stunts and shifts with other lineman and the Giants don't want to show any of that to opponents yet. I wouldn't judge Lawrence too much right now.
If Lawrence has a big impact in pre-season or early in his rookie season, that will be unusual and very encouraging.
DTs need development time because generally they get by on all strength in college and are coming in not a peak physical strength for men which starts at about 25. Dlaw is a monster with excellent technique, shouldn't be a problem for him. I'm surprised he lasted to 17.
He'll learn that in this league you can't run through everyone. Leverage is the name of the game. He'll be a dangerous guy once he learns the do's and dont's on how to succeed in the NFL.
His occupying of two blockers freed up Tae Davis and others to make plays. His impact is not just his numbers, but how he improves those around him. Too often last year the OL had an easy time getting to the second level and that is a tough chore for any LB

A G in the 2nd level is a win for the offense, especially against a $B, Lawrence is a great complement to a $B.
I would try him on the weak side edge in 4 DL looks.
Being that he would be in a 1-1 deal there and has some quicks. It's unusual to see a left tackle have to take on an edge thats both larger and faster than he is. You have still got two bigs in Hill and Tomlinson as well as the prospect of inside blitz Ss and or lb or the 3 tech types in there if y
^This.

LinJo didn't even start until his second year. His rookie year he only played in six games, no starts, racked up eight tackles.
Haloti Ngata started from Day One, but even he had a pretty tepid rookie year, with 31 tackles and a sack. I'll bet Lawrence beats that. We'll see.
Against two NFL linemen; he will learn how to get low and use his opponents momentum against them - that's when he will shine.
He's this year's "Will Hernandez" on defense.
Another drunk at the keyboard, how nice

That’s a great analogy, I hope it’s really true

He did nothing.

I think he was kidding. At least I hope he was.
