Does this phrase annoy the shit out of everyone like it does me? Not sure why but I want to punch my computer screen every time I see it. Maybe it's just me.
It doesn't offend people. It annoys people and yet you still do it knowing that.
Who? The Maras, Tisches, Gettlemans?
This thread has actually been worthwile, for those who have limited history about the Giants, to get insights from others who actually understand the term. And what it means.
I sort of see it like the Eagles being called the Iggles.
It’s for the sole reason to mock Mara and DG and anyone who supports them. It’s so obvious and the denial is more pathetic than actually using the phrase.
Jints Central was a common phrase used in the Daily News in the early '90s - I forget the exact writers/reporters - to obviously reference the Giants decisions makers - GM, Owners, etc.
I found it catchy and harmless. Frankly, I have no idea why anyone would get so irritated by it.
Is just one more example of fans believing their perception of things are actually factual.
I don’t take too seriously any opinion of people who when expressing themselves on a given topic it becomes obvious that they don t know what they don’t know.
You should just ignore and or dismiss their perception on this topic rather than waste energy getting worked up about it.
Not much interaction transpires on this board that s worth getting upset about. It s just a football forum
It’s the intent behind it. BW has been here, like me, for decades. He’s one of the long standing contributors here. I usually disagree with his perspective, but his usage of Jints Central has a specific intent. And he’s been consistent for decades with it. To deny the intent is being disingenuous.

Except when we were winning of course...
The intent is to mock the team and the decisions they make. Pretty sad if you ask me.
RE: Bw is not denying why and how he uses it...at all Â
the idea that it bothers any of you enough to openly argue about it in a thread is classic.
You all need an enema...
He is, he definitely is. Again, I do t give a shit, would be nice if he’s honest about it though. It’s no different than the “Luddite” garbage that is ever so popular when the Giants aren’t winning.
I didn’t hear either term much when we were in the playoffs and winning Super Bowls. Again, just admit it and move on.

Not born here but I will go ya’ll from time to time. Didn’t think this thread was appropriate to use slangish words as posters seem to get too upset...

He has stated multiple times in this thread he uses it as a negative towards management
I've never seen him use it in that context. Although I'm not sure what's the point of the distinction. I'm sure he will freely admit that he disagrees with and sometimes pokes fun at other posters.

He most certainly does. You will notice the EFC moniker when referring to them (Eli Fan Club).
If people can’t see he is doing to troll the site and make fun of the Giants, then I don’t know what to tell you. It’s as clear as day.
many of the cutsey nicknames given to sports teams by media or the fans that gets somewhat annoying when overused. Didn't the papers also use something like "Mara Tech" in a similar way as "Jints Central"?

Positive all the time and thinks we will win the Super Bowl every year, head over to extreme skins.
I like a good debate, seeing all sides to the argument and some friendly banter. I think BW add to this site more than some 100% positive poster who don't bother to think for themselves. Nothing against those guys, it's probably the best way to root on a team, but it doesn't add much to an online discussion forum.

agree. The issue is some people can’t handle friendly banter and debate - they get very angry and crazy
is a time for every team's fans where we tend to get carried away with positives. That's normal and not a problem, but it helps to have someone around who helps to keep expectations at a reasonable level.

What denial?
Now nicknames is another thing. If you don't know someone personally, don't call then your clever nickname. "getts", 'Spags". Just my thing I'm sure
Seriously?

Denial.
Would you mock and laugh at them if they got hurt too? POS.
Do we need a glossary now?
Denial

Bullshit. You don't use it because the Daily News did 30 years ago. You use it because you know it annoys people. At least be honest about it.
I am being honest about it.
I've always used. Dating back to BBI's inception.

Jersey - Giants get it?
I don't know if this place is overrun by stupidity or trolls but sadly it's just not worth the time anymore.

Pretty sure it dates back to well before they moved to the meadowlands and come from the NYer accent pronouncing Giants.
But we are the stupid ones.

So a fan can’t poke fun at his team when they are in a slide, or whenever??

Of course he can. But like I’ve said 3 or 4 times now he does it to posters who agree with any move the Giants make that he doesn’t agree with.
Not a big deal, just stating the obvious. Don’t be such a luddite.

This thread is a great test of this fact.
And admitted it last week. Freudian slip but even so.

That was funny. Fat-Mara was lying in the weeds ready to pounce with that one...

as you said, it’s going to be a long while before you live that one down.
When people talk about being DC-area fans, I have a natural distaste to that!!
That was very funny.
