NFT: Cal-trans management needs a lobotomy

TurdFurguson : 8/12/2019 11:04 am
I was driving back to the Bay Area with the kids last night from visiting family south of Long Beach. Made it out of LA to Six Flags Magic Kingdom in under an hour (for anyone who’s never driven that, it’s as close to a miracle as such things exist). I’m almost halfway through the trip when traffic sprouts up on the only main road connecting SoCal to NorCal. 6 miles of slow crawl because they decide to do highway construction at 7:00 on a Sunday night.

If someone is making six figures with those management skills, I’m in the wrong industry. Rant over.
When would you like them to do construction? 9am monday

morning?
Sounds like

a pretty logical time to do construction, to be honest. Overnight and done by 6am before morning work week rush hour.
There's actually more than one main road connecting Bay Area to LA

But don't let that fact get in the way of a good rant...

There’s 1 if you want to want to get there in a reasonable amount of time. And as to when they should do it: anytime but a Sunday or Friday night in the Summer? I think theres 5 other days that end in “Y” not susceptible to commuting tourists.
Reading between Turd's lines.......I think this is a humble brag

about his time to Six Flags rather than a rant on road construction. However, there is the 101/Highway 1 or 5. Two possible ways up. The fastest way if 5. If 5 had construction, I am sure there would have been lanes to travel through.

However, remember that highway 1...the PCH....always has some form of construction because most of the road is on the seaward side of big cliffs and rock-falls.

LOL

No humble brag. Literally zero traffic on the 5. I was shocked.

Side note: whoever invented baby shark needs to pay reparations to parents worldwide.

Summer is actually the best time of year to do road work, less commuter traffic. They aren't planning road improvements around tourists, especially on the 5 or 101 between Bakersfield & Monterey county. And if it's night work, most night work shift weeks are Sun night - Thur night so they don't do work on a Friday night. That's usually a union thing.
You should have taken the train

Of wait, the most pro-environment state does not have a train between its two major cities

Can anyone say “Hypocrisy”?

I would hope no one says Hypocrisy.

What does that have to do with anything?
Magic Mountain, not Kingdom

You have your theme parks mixed up.
