NFT: Whats one movie you walked out of the theater on?

LawrenceTaylor56 : 8/12/2019 12:26 pm
Continuing with the recent movie thread.

I'll start. Peter Jacksons King Kong. About 1 hour into the movie someone blurted out "Where the fuck is the monkey?"

I left at hour #3. If you can't finish a movie in under 3 hours, I'm gone. Plus that movie sucked.

I haven't seen that movie yet, but when I saw the trailer and heard it wasn't Elton singing, I lost interest.

Yeah. I missed that part before I saw it. Could have saved 20 minutes of my life if I had. High budget American Idol horseshit.

This one's surprising. I thought this was a fantastic movie, and it's pretty well reviewed also.

The Russian Roulette scenes were just too intense for me ... I still canít watch the movie without skipping some parts... though I once read some of this was pure Hollywood.

I didnt have a problem with the Russian Roulette scene. What I did have a problem with was that LONG LONG LONG wedding scene! I seem to remember that that thing went on forever! Ive been to shorter actual weddings. I havent watched that movie in years, but if I ever see it again, pretty clear where ill be hitting the fast forward button.

You had your local paper's review section, a handful of national critics, and that was it. No way to readily access those reviews either. That's how I ended up asking my parents to take me to Howard the Duck many moons ago - it looked funny in the commercials and we had little to tell us otherwise.

We didn't walk out of that one, but a bunch of people did.

I had a roommate back in my military days whose favorite movies were Howard the Duck and Spaceballs. Seriously.....and Im talking all time here....no Godfather, Jaws, ANYTHING ELSE...we used to ride him about that fact all the time but he stuck to his guns, just loved both of them.

The Big Lebowski is actually a brilliant reimagining of Raymond Chandler's seminal novel The Big Sleep.

If you did not enjoy it, then I would suggest checking out Turner Classic Movies. I think they have an Errol Flynn marathon coming up soon. Did you know he was actually an expert fencer in real life?

My girlfriend at the time and I had free movie Tuesday tickets and went to see Men in Black 3 because there was nothing good out.

We walked out about 15 minutes into the movie when Will Smith looks at an Alien and says something like "You look like you from the planet damn."

Watched it last night. The actor looks a lot like Elton circa 1973-ish. But the his voice is awful. Cringe-worthy.

First off, who didn't go into Rocky Horror without having some idea of what it was?

Why would someone literally walk out? Flick is a pisser, and if you've got a good, active crowd, a unique and fun experience.

We're used to antiheroes like Bobby Dupea today, but in 1970 I imagine he was pretty shocking and upsetting to older audiences.

there was nothing left to see.

With Braveheart, when I saw it originally in the movies, I did see a few people leave when they started torturing him to death near the end. The entire tone of the movie changed at that point. Instead of draw and quarter, it should have been draw and Bitcoin.

But for "SWAT", I kept getting interrupted by a phone call, and once the plot was figured out (it was pretty easy to figure out), I stalled before the very ending to answer it.

Walked out of District 8 for an emergency, then went to a later showing to see the end. I probably shouldn't have gone back.
I've never walked out of a movie I was watching, but I wish I had

Twice.

Took a date to Starship Troopers. What a mistake that was. I had loved the book, which is why we went, but the movie was complete crap. A waste of time.

The other was taking my dad to see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Again garbage that push the suspension of disbelief too far. Another completely awful movie.

I'm sorry. Tearing Mel Gibson in two is high comedy.

Really to which one?

Up in the Air was well-done and the acting was great, those are my two favorite actresses but the plot just didn't interest me at all. I left and went into another movie.

Bridesmaids, I do not remember much of the movie at all to be honest. I went with a group and then I think I just left for another movie that was pretty bad but I was just glad I was out of there. If I remember correctly a bunch of women getting ready for a wedding in a train like fashion is not in my wheelhouse. Sorry.

I am also not the biggest fan of Melissa McCarthy. Holy shit, I cannot stand her. The more outlandish she acts the more she sucks.

Bridesmaids might've been that movie where McCarthy was the over-the-top character where I said "welp, I'm out of here!"
