Dak has reportedly turned down a 30 million a year. At this point I'd say adios and it is scary I am seeing a future where Eli Manning starts for the Cowboys in 2020. It just makes too much sense, they have the perfect offense for him, they have a superbowl window next year and possibly the year after, and they could commit year to year. That is what I would do if I were running the Cowboys.

people are grossly overestimating the Eli Manning market around the league...
Who would sign Dak?
- CHI: if Trubisky takes a step back or doesn't take that next step as a starter
- Saints: Brees/Bridgewater are UFAs (the latter sucks) and Hill is an RFA with 7 passing attempts in his career
- MN: more a factor if Cowboys franchise Dak in 2020 and he hits the market in 2021, but Dak > Cousins if only because of the former's much better mobility
- TAM: Winston sucks and the depth chart behind him is awful
- SF: could get out of Garoppolo's contract after this season, unless he becomes the top QB he looked like in the 2nd half of 2017
- BAL: I'm not a believer in Tavares Jackson
- MIA: if/when the Rosen experiment ends
- BUF: if Allen doesn't work out
- CIN: past time to move on from Dalton
- TEN: Mariota's gotta be running out of time
- Jax: don't know the details of Foles' deal, but Dak > Foles
- LAC: Rivers is a UFA and 37
- OAK: probably go the draft route, but Gruden may be sick of Carr
- DEN: Flacco sucks and (way early) Lock looks awful
Some of the above are a bit of a stretch (CHI, SF, Buff giving up on Allen in year 3, etc), but there would definitely be at least 2-3 teams bidding against the Cowboys if Dak hits free agency.
Of this list the you can scratch Bal, SF, Chicago, Minn, Buffalo, Jax , Chargers as far as 2020 is concerned. That leaves the Saints, Tampa, Cin, Tenn, and Denver. Why would any of those teams want the privilege of overpaying Dak instead of drafting a QB.
Agree to disagree on balt. As for Chargers, Rivers is a UFA and wasn't he pretty outspoken about the move to LA? Maybe he retires.
Why would they overpay? Same reason Alex Smith got $27 per or Keenum a huge deal or Foles $22+ or Cousins $28+ or on and on. Teams always overpay for QBs and Dak is younger than any of those guys when they hit FA and arguably more accomplished.
Wanna bet?
"Tavares Jackson" isn't their QB. Nor is Tarvaris Jacson.
2-Alex Smith is paid 23 million a year
3-The landscape for QBs in FA is much different than it was even a few years ago. There are a ton of serviceable QBs coming out of college every year now.

That Eli would go to a division rival. He would rather retire than damage his reputation with the Giants and their fans.
Damage his reputation with the Giants and their fans?
The same fans that have been shitting on him at every opportunity? It isn't just a recent phenomena to coincide with our losing. Look no further than the BBI Giant of the Year presentation video when Eli was given the trophy. Some shitty fan had to make their snide remark telling him not to fumble it. Don't Fumble It - ( New Window )
Yeah, not to mention that when players leave a team they have been with for an extended period of time, especially when they are being shown the door, they invariably try to sign with a team in the division so they have more chances to show up the team that moved on from them...
When the Colts let go of Peyton he said that he didn't want to go to a division rival of the Colts, the Jets (bc of Eli), or an NFC East team. Now Peyton did have more suitors than Eli likely will but I expect Eli to refuse to play for a team like Dallas. Honestly I think the most likely destination is Tampa Bay because Arians loves his veterans. I wouldn't rule out the Raiders either if Carr doesn't have a good year.
If these last few draft classes don’t produce the next Brady/Rodgers or even Wilson, your going to see more teams winning with average QB play a la Philly with Foles.

You are talking about once in every ten year guys. The difference will be that there won't be the gulf of space between the elite and the average line, and the average to poor line that there was before. The amount of good QB play around the league is better than it has ever been, the problem is keeping these guys healthy due to poor oline play and the importance of the QBs legs as a weapon now.

I think there's something to this. I don't think we'll see every deal be similar to Rodgers', but I think it has more to do with the quality of the QBs than it does the market value. E.g. I think Mahomes will break the market when his time comes. But not a lot of the other kids are in that league right now. Especially not Dak.
The only problem is the commune that he has in San Diego. He bitched and moaned with the move to LA. He made the adjustment of pimping a chauffeured ride for the commute. Not sure he would be willing to leave the family while he chases a championship in Dallas.
Apples and oranges ... Farve was being diva and a douche ...
It might be apples and oranges but both would leave a bitter taste. Fans will turn on Eli and his legacy if he signed in the division especially with the cowboys. Whether you agree or not the majority of fans would give Eli the Tiki treatment if he was a cowboy.
Cowboys conversations down here in Dallas start with SB talk this preseason.
Getting real interesting down here.
Honestly, I thought Dak would be signed by now.
No effing way in the world would he turn that down if it's what it "seems".
