Is awful. What I'm going to say next is a bit premature, I'll admit that, but the truth is that I have zero faith in this kid to ever stay healthy or to produce on the field for this team. There are a handful of guys we could have used with a pick at the top of round 3 in this past draft. Jaylon Ferguson, David Montgomery or Chase Winovich, Connor McGovern to name a few... Anyone else concerned about GAA's concussion? This is seeming to be taking a bit to come back from. Concussions and the long term effects or potential are scary. He is missing so much valuable time gotta believe he is heading towards PS or IR if he doesn't get cleared in next 3-5 days.
It's unbelievable how many here can't figure out Â
that hamstring injuries take time to heal. Players who come back to early often re-aggravate the injury. Sure, it's not ideal that he's missing time, but he's an important piece to this secondary. I'd rather he get this hammy healthy before the games actually count.

He had shoulder surgery. He's not milking anything...
Baker gets hurt you would think this would be Beal's big opportunity. But no hes hurt too.. Beal is like a year 2 rookie and on top of that the year 1 rookies are ahead of him because they have been practicing while Beal hasn't been doing anything. Look what Ballentine has done since joining the team late... Beal hasn't done jack shit yet. Losing patience with the guy is all.
Contrary to Beal, I have more concern with Big George. If he doesn't get back soon, he probably won't be on the 53.
To me, based on where he was picked and kind of a project to begin with, you stash him on IR. He is too far behind right now and still not cleared to play.
at a premium position because of a hamstring injury. The Giants reportedly were aware of his shoulder issue last year when they drafted him so they aren't going to cut bait with him over a hamstring injury. It would be idiotic to release him now.

You are asking if we are going to see Beal, who has a hamstring injury in which the coach says he is close to coming back, play this year?
The guy keeps getting hurt doing what exactly? Not playing or practicing for this team...
Obviously shoulder surgery takes time to heal just like a hamstring takes time to heal... but if you dont see the signs of an injury prone player who struggles to just take the damn field then IDK what else to say

Is this a serious question?
I'm not asking IF... I'm asking when? And how long until he gets hurt again? And when is he ever going to showcase why he should get on the field ahead of Janoris, DeAndre, Corey B, Love or Haley?? A full year and almost half of a preseason and we still have seen nothing Eric. That is all. I'm not giving up on him. I'm just losing patience with him not being able yo do ANYTHINH, I dont see any reason to be optimistic about Beal producing for this team until he proves otherwise and without being able to play, HELLO, how the hell is he going to do that?

Looking at his injury history it definitely isn't. His shoulder got really screwed up his junior year and it cost him last year. Hamstring pulls happen in camp. What an overreaction.

if you were the GM and coach, you would cut your talent 3rd round pick from a year ago because he had shoulder surgery last year and he pulled his hamstring this year. (BTW, he practiced all spring, but you seem to want to ignore that).

I guarantee if we get hit with injuries in the secondary during the season that same poster will be begging for Beal to be on the roster. He has tools and he's studied film like a pro. Let him get healthy and worked in in good time. You want him and not some multi team castoff at mid season.

the one he is hurting right now is himself. He is falling behind but no way he is getting cut. Beal was going to be a backup anyway and Ballentine has shined and taken the next man up spot so relax.
Thankfully CB is a place where we have some depth right now and we may have to cut / trade a very good player or 2. CB and a few other positions I am not worried about right now.
I am excited to hear Wheeler has fallen to 3rd on the depth chart. It may be a sign that we have improved quite a bit at swing tackle considering he was a starter last year and can't crack the top 2 this year.

Nobody wants to crucify you and only a handful want to call you jackass, but you should follow the sport for a few years before getting worked up over an injury or two. Lots of players get injured. It's a problem with the sport that's only getting worse. But very few injuries are career-threatening. You'll see. Give it time and before you know it you'll be as knowledgable about the game as the fans who have been following it for years.

They drafted him knowing he would need surgery, he could rehab with the team, learn the defense through film breakdowns weekly and then play this year.
He pulled a hammy. They take time for an explosion type player to heal. The Giants are not going to rush it and get another OBJ type re-injury costing 4 games to start the year.
Take a chill pill and let it play out. There are plenty of young DBs getting valuable reps to strut their stuff and get noticed in the meantime...

joints, ligaments, cartiledge, broken bones etc I'd be more concerned..hamstring issues are common with quick twitch explosive athletes so I'm less worried.
Keep him injured and all into regular season, another lost preseason with no practice and evaluation, with likely some tough bottom of the roster cuts.
Stash him on IR, again 2 lost years.
Cut him and stash him on PS, and he shows up this year might be the best option.
Julian Love and Antonio Hamilton working with the starting defense in place of Antoine Bethea and DeAndre Baker.
I think this is Hamilton's second day working with the ones, yesterday (if I'm correct) he was splitting time with Ballentine, today no mention if Ballentine that I saw. Good for AH. Ballentine has impressed so it's great for our depth to see that Hamilton is also impressing enough for starting reps.
Secondly, and what was really interesting to me about this tweet is Love getting first team reps in Bethea's absence. I know that Bethea is the vet who knows Bettcher's system and will be the expected opening day starter, but he didn't impress me in the Jets game (limited action, but still was late and slow in recovery to my eyes, particularly on the opening drive). All things being equal youth wins out in this sport, especially in the defensive backfield, so it's nice to see a true rookie 4th rounder getting starter snaps even if it's on a rest day for the vet. Love looks good to me, even if he's going to go through some rookie growing pains, I'd prefer he get as much experience as he can.

A Raiders fan friend of mine was complaining yesterday about their 2018 3rd round pick, Brandon Parker, who was considered a very talented, but developmental prospect when they drafted him. Apparently he is getting bested by 2nd and 3rd stringers in camp and is looking like a bust. I told him that the 3rd round is a popular round for boom or bust prospects. The Giants had an early 2nd round grade on Beal when they drafted him last year. Time will tell, but a shoulder injury and a hamstring injury isn't nearly enough for a jury verdict.

False history. Beal was drafted with Giants' knowledge he had a shoulder issue. If Giants knew he needed surgery, he wouldn't have been on the field to re-injure the shoulder in his first practice, which is what happened.
And the "we all knew" comment is nonsense. Once Beal hurt himself with the Giants, then it came out that NFL teams had known of his shoulder issue. There was no public discussion of the issue before that. No mention in the comments when Beal was drafted.
Sorry, just figured I'd get these stupid comments out of the way early today.

Anyone else concerned about GAA's concussion? This is seeming to be taking a bit to come back from. Concussions and the long term effects or potential are scary. He is missing so much valuable time gotta believe he is heading towards PS or IR if he doesn't get cleared in next 3-5 days.

To me, based on where he was picked and kind of a project to begin with, you stash him on IR. He is too far behind right now and still not cleared to play.
You are asking if we are going to see Beal, who has a hamstring injury in which the coach says he is close to coming back, play this year?
Is this a serious question?
Obviously shoulder surgery takes time to heal just like a hamstring takes time to heal... but if you dont see the signs of an injury prone player who struggles to just take the damn field then IDK what else to say
if you are referring to the Leonard article, he is saying that Zeke is one of the best players in the league he should be paid like it. He shouldn't take a discount because he plays RB

Thankfully CB is a place where we have some depth right now and we may have to cut / trade a very good player or 2. CB and a few other positions I am not worried about right now.
I am excited to hear Wheeler has fallen to 3rd on the depth chart. It may be a sign that we have improved quite a bit at swing tackle considering he was a starter last year and can't crack the top 2 this year.

The stupidity in these whiny comments is that DG knew that Beal needed surgery and we all knew that DG knew. So Beal was never drafted for last year.

Prior to DG, last Giant 3rd who was somewhat productive? Mario Manningham in 08. Even IF Beal turns out to be a China doll, it’s not like some unique blunder. Just a reminder that the draft is a crapshoot.
The stupidity in these whiny comments is that DG knew that Beal needed surgery and we all knew that DG knew. So Beal was never drafted for last year.
Invite you to sbow otherwise.

I was a big fan of Parker's last year as a developmental LT and IIRC the Giants were high on him as well.
