How old are you? I was 63 when I had mine taken out, I will be 71 next week. I fought them all my life. Why I waited so long for a simple surgery, I just chalk up to my Irish stubbornness!

She is a recently retired OR RN. She said that is ridiculous.
As long as you keep those tonsils, you will have those "stones" Get a simple outpatient tonsillectomy from a reputable ENT and your problem will be solved forever.
Are you in New Jersey? I'm asking because I have seen the state of medical care for my now deceased Mother, Father and sister. In a nutshell, both and wife & I who saw NJ healthcare up close & personal for two years agree that medicine here in Las Vegas is much better!

They are great for making pizza dough, bread, or home-made pretzels. It really kicks the yeast in the nuts upon activation.
It has a sour-dough like flavor.
Yums.
I used that to blast them out and I haven't had any new ones in a while now. Water pick probably works too.
