county school board threatens start of high football season. I know refs of all sports get paid but I didn't realize they got payed enough to worry about it.

although I haven't a clue what the going rate in SWFLA would be. Except for mileage, I don't know what plus expenses would include.
as HS soccer ref in the NE

we receive ~$112 per game, $104 for lax. But the responsibilities and demands are far different. I don't know how many refs on the field for a HS football game in SW FL (four? five?).

But for soccer, we work a two-man system, 80 minutes of playing time, that's playing time, exclusive of TOs, and we work our asses off. None of this five minutes for a team to work its way downfield: we may go 80 yards and back several times within a few minute span...different games
$65 is a JV official in NYS.

to need to raise the coaches as well seeing they get like $4500 for the season in most high school sports.
I am surprised they get paid at all ,,,,,

As a basketball ref about 20 miles north of NYC we make around 85 for JV and over $100 for varsity.
