Ogletree, Baker and Beal “probably” won’t play on Friday night because of injuries, according to Shurmur. Shurmur expects to play all four QB’s.

Since being drafted. I'm hoping that's a mistake.

That's not true. He practiced during the OTAs.

he is probably talking about training camp practices

Did you drop your other handle in general? Or only for Beal-specific posts?

He wasnt the only one... shit I quit on this team too at that point.

And the way the season ended, I didnt see guys like SS, Barkley, Engram, Ogletree, Solder quit. Just seems like the ones who arent here anymore.

Odell was injured. Why come back week 16 or 17? To risk getting hurt, again?

I'm just saying I know we look for reasons to fry Odell but this is a reach IMO. Half the fans here on BBI quit on the team after the 1-8 start in 2017 and they quit again after the 1-7 start in 2018, kind of rightfully so I guess. I'm not going to pick on Odell for not recovering from his injury fast enough so that he could have helped us win a extra game or 2 at the end ofast season which ultimately accomplishes nothing other than giving us the 15th or so pick instead of the 6th...

Okay. Just for Beal-specific posts. Gotcha.

Equating fans and players and putting them on the same playing field is enough to discredit the rest of your post entirely.

What a ridiculous comparison. We're not the ones playing the games and we're not getting paid by the Giants.

If this is the precedent you want to set, then maybe Barkley shouldn't have played any of those last games, either. Heck, just play all backups when you're out of contention... why not go all the way?

That is who Odell is.
Meh. That one was more on Riley than Beckham. I'm not an OBJ apologist by any means, but the onside kick failure was very much a team effort. Plus, Brown made a really nice play.

implode this year if they don't get off to a fast start.

It could happen with a first year head coach and someone as disruptive and polarizing as OBJ (still so weird that that is a generally accepted truth now!). But man, that team is pretty stacked offensively and very talented defensively. I also think Mayfield has a personality that's galvanizing to his teammates.

If Barkley was the least bit banged up, I'm sure many would have advocated putting him on the shelf. As you yourself advocated they do with OBJ at the time. If not advocated, at least posed no opposition to the prospect.

I mean we all saw the leg whip he got hurt on. He wasn't fabricating an injury. He did go get checked out at HSS. Was all that a clever ruse?

People are advocating limiting Barkley's touches this year and we haven't even played a game.

I had not heard about Odell texting the coach
ktinsc : 8/14/2019 4:10 pm : link
Wishing him," good luck without me." if that occurred then I could see the Giant brain trust being completely done with him at that moment. It would then be easy to come to a mutual decision involving the medical staff to hold him out for the last four games.

Gets got an incredible return for a guy that they were done with. ( see Steelers deal for diva wide receiver.) The entire management team would have had to be complicit with the plan to offload a sunk cost. That could have been the play of the year...

Well that’s a real shitty take. Team sucks? It’s ok to quit!

Changing the channel seems to me to be slightly different than accepting a paycheck and playing hookey.
