Utley/Tejada stuff is such BS and Tejada added fuel to the fire.
Agree, but Preston Wilson has a point about common courtesy among athletes - you read about it all the time in many sports:

When Biggio was injured as a result of my slide the first thing I did after the game was call their clubhouse to check on him and talk to him about it. Call it professional courtesy or just human decency. You should at least reach out to show you care. It could be you one day.
I like Preston Wilson but he's off here. Utley DID reach out through Wright AND sent him a bottle of tequila.
Can't be man enough to do it yourself?
It is what is wrong with so much of sports "analysis", they try so hard to go against the grain that they make insupportable arguments.
Pretty innocuous stuff. Just seemed like he was just answering a question. He hasn't spoken to him.
They created a new rule due to Utley's slide, btw.
not throwing in the towel, but if the Mets don't stop the bleeding and go on another prolonged winning streak they're done (captain obvious?)
Too bad Mets aren’t in the AL....almost one third of those teams are gimmes so it is much easier to rattle off 10 in a row there. Just play Orioles, Tigers, Seattle, or KC (blue jays are improving) and you don’t even have to bring your A team and you have 14 in a row.

Callaway: “I bet 85 percent of our decisions go against the analytics. And that is how it’s always going to be, because that is just on paper. It doesn’t take into account the person is a human being, how he performs in these big spots, all these things a manager looks at.”

Mickey literally never looks at those things. Never.
We've come full circle.

Is it too early to pull Stroman for Lugo?

Man Mick is a fucking idiot. Yes, analytics in the specific moment are just a piece of the puzzle. But "does't take into account" shit - yeah it does, it includes EVERY AB, during which his personal situations apply each time...
Now you can't glean that from the numbers, we know that. Which is why YOU LEAVE MATZ IN WHEN HE'S KILLING IT...even when his overall ERA is higher than Lugo's or R bats are coming up or a statistical decline 3rd time through / late game...you know, like you did 2 starts ago with him in his CG (derp)
Seriously, even pro mgrs don't understand how to use stats most times it seems
Also, Dilson Herrera 2 HR's today. Mets made the wrong call with Tejada IMO.
wouldn't matter tonight, Panik on base twice.
Stroman just needs to be ok and get through 6, hopefully not get complacent - Braves O can score in bunches.

Rueben looked like he didn't belong out there. Hope that changes.
7 feels like not enough already...
And Rosario a HR away from the cycle too, Lagares 3 hits for the 2nd game in 3 i believe
Rosario w/ another hit tho...5 hits
No ground on phils but the cubs and cards we gain on with a win.
John Franco, Jesse Orosco, Roger McDowell, Jeff Innis, Turk Wendell could do better in 2019.
Heck where is Colon or RA Dickey?
Better than the black holes we seen...as related really nice to see Lagares bump a bit. Would be huge if he can give us something on O, if not just spd on the bags
Alonso seems like a guy who says to the team, “f*ck this, I got this tonight” and puts the team on his back when it’s needed most, like last night.
During the rain delay the other night I was watching the pre-game and it was an interview with Gelbs and Randazzo with Alonso, it was really interesting. Alonso’s high school said he would never be a college ball player, he was doubted through college and the minors, and you can tell that drives him. He also had some choice words for the scouts who shat on him in the minors about his defense.
